Getting involved in life is the freedom that comes with sobriety.
Totally agree, but many of us, especially in early sobriety tend to let some things consume us, this is something we all need to watch for. I know I am still a pretty much all or nothing kind of person, I need to keep an eye on things in my life and not let them consume me, particuallary things that I have very little control over.

We all need to watch our selfs on outside issues and be able to recognize when we begin to obsess about them to such a degree the draw us into depression or unneeded anger or frustration.

When I was trying to quit drinking on my own the only way I could deal with the anger and frustration of not being able to stop drinking was to drink. When I was angry or frustrated over things at work that I had no real control over I drank to rid myself of the anger and frustration.
