Oh the gridiron irony ....

Most everyone here knows I work in a hotel.

When we do well' with $$$ and reservations, etc ... we get 'bonuses' usually gift certificates around town for things. Sometimes Wal - Mart, sometimes movies ... that kind of thing.

This afternoon - I got a call from the General Manager.
We got another bonus.
The 'bonus' however - is a substantial amount toward dinner at a new Sports Bar/Restaraunt in town. It's an upscale kind of place, you're not sitting down to dinner in front of rows and rows of bottles.

However - it *is* a bar.

Everyone here knows I'm in recovery, yadda yadda.

First, I was touched that the people I work with are so concerned and caring about my recovery - they'd CALL me and warn me about the bonus for this month. Wow.
Then come to find out - the GM tried to get the owner to give 'me' another gift of some sort - like a gas card for the equivalent amount - and he refused.
I've worked here a year and a half and have YET to meet the 'owner'.
No big deal for me.

I told her not to worry.
Hung up with her ... and called the bar.
Ha!
Situation handled.
They have takeout.

So - I can get a .. I dunno - three-star, I think the rating is ...
dinner for free (for two)
and bring it home...

And watch my Colts in the playoffs.

HP showed me today that even thought I have no family ... I have friends.
That I am being looked out for .. and I matter to someone.
That's quite important when you're used to being an army of one. I have been that. For a very long time.

Most important to me - and the point of the thread -
there is usually a solution ... a sober solution ...
if we just listen and follow directions.

I don't know if I got the football terms right ...
it doesn't really matter does it?

:bounceGo Colts!:bounce

I think I'm gonna worry about it .. with the prime rib, please.8
