Thanks everybody, was feeling sorry for myself again!!!

I seem to go through stages of being down, mostly when I want to drink - I could have stayed last night but like you all say, not a good idea...

I was spending so much time weighing up the pros and cons of having a drink that I wasn't really able to concentrate on much else, so it was best all round if I removed myself from the vicinity as I probably would have drank something and that would have been the undoing of everything...
