Early in sobriety, I came home early from occasions where I just didn't fit in - and some of those were sober dances! I just felt so awkward, so stupid, without being all juiced up on the booze. It's taken time, but I actually look forward to them now, and enjoy seeing friends and spending time catching up. Hang in there - I'm glad you left. At least you are sober and safe - that's the main thing.
