Mike when you say daily drinker.... well was drinking a problem for him or did he just get tired of it?
I've never asked him..but my wife says he was at the bar every night and her mother also complained of him being hooked on pills. The marriage wasn't good at the time so it may have just been situational stress. Hard to say if he was addicted. There are so many facets to alcohol abuse that it's tough to generalize. My feeling is that as things improved in his life he found better things to do than sit at the bar all night.
