TOPIC: 2 Of The 3 Pertinent Ideas In How It Works
Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
By the Grace of my HP and People
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to take a drink since
8-11-90.
For that and you I am truely grateful.
As you know the most NORMAL thing for
an alcoholic or addict to do is drink or
drug himself/herself into oblivion.
Till they are totally smashed or stoned.
Right?
The most ABNORMAL thing for either to
do is to quit drinking or drugging
instantly, abruptly. And to stay clean
or sober for the rest of their lives.
Right?
As an alcoholic, I quit drinking 16 yrs
ago upon intering rehab after a family
intervention was done on me. And I
havent had a drink since.
But, does that mean I am so much
better than thou, spiritually fit to
have others bow down to me who
cant or wont stay clean or sober?
That wouldnt be right.
The 2nd of 3 pertinent ideas says.....
(B) "That probably no human power
could have relieved our alcoholism."
This just means I, can't sober anyone
up, including himself.
So, why should I get my feathers
all ruffled with others who continue
go out and come back in?
It's easy....We are both powerless.
I can't sober them up and just as
they can't comprehend the 3rd pertinent
idea which states:
"(c) That God could and would (relieve
us of our alcoholism/addiction) if He
were sought."
Like I , they too have to do the
seeking or searching for a Power
greater than themselves.
When I did do this then it was my HP
Who relieved me of my alcoholism.
