My ex and I didn't calculate well when we first bought our house. Taking out the 401K money for a big downpayment pushed us over into the next tax bracket for the year. We owed them 10,000. They, quite nicely, allowed us to make monthly payments which were affordable. They will work with you. Doesn't the BB say that once you come clean with your creditors, they usually are more than willing?
