I did a quick research, and understand what you're saying. Though that's not the "norm" of Chabad, and those individuals believe that their late chief rabbi, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, is the Messiah. I would agree; that group IS a cult. Jews do not believe that the Messiah has come! LOL! So, I wouldn't even classify them as Jews!
