what exactly does suboxone do?
so my ah was addicted to oxycontin. (im not sure for how long but probably a few years..and he was actually crushing and snorting it). He was given suboxone by an addiction specialist and is still on it. Its over 1 yr. later. But, he said even with the suboxone he felt sluggish and so he started using cocaine. (that was at least a year ago) And he still does....He takes the soboxone, and does coke. He also is prescribed xanex and was even dabbling in ADHD meds. Oh, and he does ligitimatly take 2 anti-depressants. So, what exactly does the suboxone do? i was told it has an opiate blocker in it... and helps with the withdrawal symtpoms. Does it help with the loss of dopomine as well?
Maybe he has turned to coke because of the lack of dopomine. ?? Either way, he wont admit he has a problem and says he wouldnt go to a treatment center in a milion years. he says he's not "addicted" to coke...he knows what being addicted is, as he was addicted to oxycontin.
