Stanley Jones“It is a book of daily devotions that I incorporated into my morning quiet time/meditation.” - Bunny211 Our forum members share their favorite book titles. Treatment Facilities Southeast Addiction Center Texas Recovery Advocates Lake Ariel Recovery Center Sanctuary at Cherry Hill Available for purchase on Amazon. 2. “Sober is the New Black” by Rachel Black"I just finished Sober Is the New Black by Rachel Black. Short and easy read and one that particularly interested me because of her non-AA position on her drinking problem. She attended at a point in her early sobriety but decided it had tenets that weren't for her, and a different "system" governed her thinking. Ultimately, though, her path echoes the 12 Steps, but with a different underlying focus essentially of logic over higher power. She is from the UK and perhaps her recovery is like ART or SMART or just CBT/DBT. Enjoyed reading about her take and thought process." - August252015 Available for purchase on Amazon. 3. “The Seven Deadly Sins” by Graham Tomlin“I'd highly recommend it. Spiritual, philosophical and wise.” - Berrybean Available for purchase on Amazon. 4. “The Spirituality of Imperfection” by Ernest Kurtz and Katherine Ketcham"A beautifully wise book with a mindful, heartfelt approach to the lovely imperfections of our humanity. I recommend this as a must-read for spiritual seekers. It explores practical and spiritual approaches to problems of daily life with its use of nearly 100 short stories from virtually every world religion and spiritual tradition. Readers will learn how to change self-destructive patterns with a step-by-step path to self acceptance. This book has altered my perceptions in many ways." - Fly N Buy Available for purchase on Amazon. “Drinking: A Love Story” by Caroline Knapp"I have read Knapp's Drinking: A Love Story no less than five times. It provides such a clear picture of what my life looks like. I always pick it up when I am really struggling. Caroline was a gifted writer who died much too young. Her book Pack of Two is also fantastic if you are an animal lover." - Chuck39 Available for purchase on Amazon. “When the Heart Waits” by Sue Monk Kidd"I'm reading When The Heart Waits: Spiritual Direction for Life's Sacred Questions by Sue Monk Kidd.
