One Thing I Did For Myself Today Part 10
Please continue to share your journeys and inspiration.
The last part:
One thing I did for myself today: I skipped part of my morning snack so that I would have plenty of room for an Indian food lunch. So yummy!!!
Pippo, that sounds like a delicious lunch.
I finally got my flowers planted. I have three large planters on the terrace. So, I put in some impatiens, geraniums, petunias and marigolds. Basically, they are flowers that can put up with my lack of 'green-thumb'. And, they also have to put up with a fair bit of wind, but they did well for the last two years, so hopefully this year will be find too. They make me smile. :)
I hope everyone had a good weekend! I had ice-cream by the beach today - nothing better. :)
The kitchen reno is coming along. We've ordered new countertops and they should be ready to be delivered in a couple of weeks.
Anna- thanks for the new thread! The flowers you planted sound beautiful and so does the nice weather you are having and all the walks!
PippoRossi- that is great you were able to enjoy some Indian food. My husband loves that too.
Ringo- I am glad you are feeling better and did the work to get back on track.
I have been doing good. I swam some laps yesterday and plan on doing a lot of that this week and get some sun.
Anna- your kitchen is going to look so good!!
Hello! Can I join you ladies?
Anna your kitchen project sounds fun!
Iím doing some decorating in my new little house today ☀️
BlueWellies, I'm so glad you joined us. Have you just moved into this new house? Enjoy the decorating!
Midwest, enjoy your swimming. I think swimming is such good exercise and so easy on your joints. I'm just a really bad swimmer. :)
Today, I gave up on a book I was reading and halfway through. I didn't love it and after picking it up and putting it down half a dozen times, I moved on to a new and hopefully, exciting, book. :) Life is too short to read boring books.
Welcome PippoRossi and BlueWillies!! This is a wonderfully supportive, caring group of women.
Lady is just about back to her "old" self (I mean that literally, she's 11). I feel great. A bit humbled by my food slip but also grateful as it proved to me that the disease is progressive. I have a deeper understanding and commitment to abstinence now.
Good day to all!
Thanks for the welcome ❤️ Iím looking forward to getting to know all of you.
Anna, my daughter and I got the house about a week ago. Sheís my youngest and my last kid at home so this little place is perfect for us. Doing some organizing today 😀
Hope everyone has a great day!
Thanks Midwest and Ringo!
Ringo, what kind of pet is Lady?
Lady is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Babs and Cozy are Calico sisters. My fur family. No human children of my own but Mr. Ringo has two grown kids, one of which has five children (three are hers, 2 are his). We get to see her whole family once a year when we visit them in Idaho.
Our yearly visit is coming up 21 & 22 June. We will pack in a super full day Saturday and then fly home exhausted Sunday. (smile)
San Francisco Bay Area is having a heat spell but temps are supposed to closer to normal starting today. We'll see. Fantastic day yesterday. Rode bike to work today.
Great day wished for all!
Anna- you are right about the books. I hope the next one is great!
Ringo- I hope you enjoy your time with the kids when you go. :)
Bluewellies- congrats on the new place. It sounds cute and cozy.
Yesterday I exercised and laid out and today I walked two miles and plan on swimming later.
I need to pick out a new book to read.
Good morning Sisters!
It has been forever since I checked in. I have been popping in to read but not taking the time to post. Life got so busy for me this past semester, and I wasn't taking time to do "fun" things like I should. I've been making up for that over the last few weeks. I've been camping, sewing, and a new-to-me hobby, pen making.
We had to say good bye to my beloved dog last week. I am having a bit of a hard time adjusting, especially since we have been together so much since I retired. The kitties are showing me lots of love.
Today I am going to play in the sewing room. I made a sweet little sundress for my granddaughter the other day so today I'm going to make a coordinating one for her older sister.
Wishing you all the best of days.
Helen! So good to hear from you. Sad to hear about your dog. I trust you have years of wonderful memories.
My kitty Ringo past in February. We now have Cozy and Babs, Calico sisters rescued from an abandoned building near where I work. I've actually "met" their mother as she lives there (she was fixed and returned when litter was rescued).
I'm enjoying a really good time in my life gals. Sure, something can come up and change everything but not focusing on that. It's warm, sunny, work is great, life is wonderful, no belly aches lately, down another two pounds and I look/feel great.
Helen, I'm so sorry that to hear that Thor passed away. It's so very sad when we lose our beloved pets. Co-ordinating sundresses for the summer sound adorable.
Ringo, I had forgotten that Cozy and Babs were rescuses. How lucky they were to have you find them and bring them home. Ringo, as I get older I sure understand that something can come along and change everything. I think it pushes me to remember to stay in the moment.
Midwest, I love the way you change up your exercise routine. I tend to fall into a rut and stay there. :)
It's pouring rain here today, so I made banana bread which is baking as I type. I shall make some coffee soon and enjoy a piece. :)
Anna- the banana bread sounds delicious!! I canít wait to get some zucchini and freeze it for bread.
Helen- I am sorry to hear about Thor. :(. I am sure that is a big adjustment him not being there. / the dresses sound super cute and I am glad you are making time for yourself.
Ringo- you are right we donít know what day to day holds.
I swam warm this morning and did strength training. Drinking water now and doing laundry.
Helen, I forgot that he name was Thor. That makes it more real to me. My condolences.
Anna and MW, I just love hearing how you fill your days. Puts a smile on my face.
Later today is my 5th Step and going on to Steps 6 & 7 all in a four-hour window. Wow, I am excited. It isn't pleasant to look in black and white at my resentments, fears and harms done but it is so worth it, so I can acknowledge them, ask God to remove them/forgive me in order for me to be free to do His will. To do and be what He's wanted for me all along!
Being free of the physical aspects of my addictions was only the beginning!
Peace and blessings to all.
Ringo- you are brave doing all that self reflection. :)
hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!
