Hi all.. we have had several of the staff have deaths in the families in the last 8 weeks.. miss my Mom no she is not gone.. just living with my sister..
there has been a problem of sorts and I have no idea why it started. except I let my little sister from California come to visit in late August and things have gone to hell since. Its like something Evil has walked into my house and I opened the door..
I am no longer allowed to talk to my family my children and this comes from my Mother... why I have no idea.. but I have been told not to call anyone or talk to anyone..
I am coming to the understanding why someone takes their life. and why... it was hard to grow up .. to get married to have 4 children in 3 years at 19-23 years of age to give up all of your life that you might have had.. to work hard at trying to raise 3 children by yourself and now they have great lives and I am so proud of them.. to be told not to talk to anyone anymore .. miss my Mom. when she was here in Wisconsin at least we could drive up and spend the weekend with her and enjoy each others company. and I don't care how many times she told me the same thing.. we got to have coffee and talk...
thought when Sandy came to visit things where different nope.. Evil People just plain Evil.... and Diane is milking Mom dry to have the house in Laurinburg NC. and a life that in her head is a kings way of life.. I am not sorry.. maybe this is why people drink too. to sleep to not dream to be in a cool dark place that no one is unhappy with you or mad. or not part of your life anymore.. but then Death is jus tthat an end to one dark place that all you do is work pay bills and clean and one that you get to rest and no one is around to pull at you.. I am jus tso sad...

Ringo, I think it does some time to adjust to retirement. I have always liked routines in my day, and I have continued having routines. I always find the holidays leave me looking forward to getting back to my routine.

Midwest, I hope you're doing well.

Delilah, Welcome to the thread.

(((Ardy)))

I have been making use of the Gym in my building since the weather turned cold last week and I'm enjoying it. It's not the same as walking outside, but it gets the endorphins flowing and that's a good thing.

Hello Ladies! Still adjusting and slowly making new routines. Right now waiting for hubby to return from being with a sponsee (he has the car). If all I was doing was going to the gym and come home, I'd be on my bike. But today is Zumba with some new friends, then out to lunch. (I need the car for this one.)

Sponsee 4-5PM and then 5:30p another one calls for a check-in. Life is good.

One thing I did: came back to this thread

Some other things: had a fifteen-minute walk; had a fresh salad with lunch; spent some time in sunshine.

Hello gals!

Getting some routines down but also open to spontaneity. Enjoying going to meetings I haven't been to in years and to meetings that are new to me. Slowly getting chores down around the house, Zumba on Wed followed by lunch with three retired teachers was fun. Biking to Zumba today and coming straight home.

My mood has lifted, I'm more positive, and I feel so much better.

God is good.

Ringo- I am glad you are feeling more positive. It sounds like you had a really fun week!!

I went to the gym, ate healthy, had my vitamins. Enjoyed a tiny bit of sunshine while it lasted.

Ringo, it sounds like you're doing well adjusting to retirement and having lots of fun. MrAnna was semi-retired for a couple of years and only fully retired at the end of 2019 so I'm adjusting to. Things are going really well, so far.

Caramel, I hope you enjoyed your long phone call.

Midwest, what is your favourite genre to read? Sometimes I get a few really good books in a row, and other times, I start, then abandon a few before I find one I like.

Anna- I sometimes have trouble getting into a book too. I am a slow reader. I like a lot of the thrillers like "Gone girl" and "the woman in the window" I think you suggested that book to me. I also like books that take place during War world II like "All the light we cannot see" and I want to read "The Alice Network" soon. I'll have to read more on the book thread sometime and see what everyone is reading.

I got a lot of things done today and now I am resting. I just had a huge cup of green tea.

Yesterday, while my car had a new tyre installed, rather than wait in the "customer-service lounge" with its coffee or tea in paper cups, I lunched at a small nearby restaurant - much more pleasant

Today I resumed my gentle-exercise classes for the year.

Caramel- I love the idea of waiting it out at a restaurant instead of the waiting room.

I did a little yoga and some journaling this morning.

Hello gals,

I trust everyone is well and taking good care of themselves. I feel better but not 100% yet. I get out of the house every day; if not for exercise, 12 Step meeting or house errands than to be of service to someone in need. Volunteering at the food bank every Friday morning. Went to a matinee recently to see Dr. Doolittle. Adorable, uplifting movie. Really very sweet.

Ringo- I am glad you are feeling better and I am sure you will be 100 percent soon. That was a huge adjustment you just went through.

I went to church today and had a good workout. Resting now.
