Midwest, Golden milk sounds delicious. I used to drink something similar but it's been a long time. It seems especially nice in the cold weather.

Helen, I'm glad you're looking forward to getting back to teaching and robotics. You have so much enthusiasm, the kids must love you.

I've been away for a week getting some serious sunshine, and it was awesome. We just got home and we still have NO SNOW. Yay! I may make it through this winter.

I woke up this morning, extra early. Before waking the kids I took time to meditate. I am so grateful for the gifts of sobriety

Anna- the sunshine sounds amazing. I am glad you were able to do that. it is so cold here and we have a lot of snow on the ground.

pmm- welcome to this thread!! I love sobriety. It is so nice to be clear minded.

I went to the gym and to the grocery store. I bought a lot of healthy food.

Good Day Lovelies!

Midwest - hope the shovelling wasn't to bad! The healthy food sounds awesome!

Anna - you are jinxing us, we are due to get buried this weekend

pmm - nice to meet you!

I was hoping to maybe see something from Ringo - I know it's gotta be rough, she's probably furloughed.

For me, nothing exciting. Loving my low-carb life, although I haven't lost anymore weight, I am freaking frozen all the time. Dh thinks I am low on something, so I started taking one of the kids vitamins everyday!

Got a nice long hike in Sunday, of course I was wearing about 20lbs of layers - well exaggeration, but snow pants, long coat, pants, tights under the pants, two sweaters, hat, gloves rated for -30 and a scarf around my face. If I'd had a balaclava, I'd have worn it Trying to at least get a 15 minute wander in each night.

Hope all is well! Hope everyone is taking care of themselves and living their best lives possible!

MLH- ahhhh that makes sense about where Ringo is. I donít think she has a computer at home. That is why we normally here from her during the week. I hope she is doing ok.

That is great you are taking a multivitamin. I have been cold too. I started taking more vitamins also. More vitamin D and C. / good job still getting out even for a little bit.

Today I went to the gym and used a hair and face mask.

Hello wonderful ladies,

Please forgive my silence. I have so much to be grateful for and yet I've allowed being out of work (govt shutdown) to affect me. I don't anywhere near the stress of some of my co-workers who are heads of household or single parents. Mr. Ringo still works and is keeping up afloat.

I wish you all a very good day and welcome to the new gals. I'll be back soon.

Ringo- thanks for checking in. I hope you go back to work soon. I am sure the whole situation is frustrating.

I have been keeping up with my exercise and I have been journaling too. Church today and back to the gym!

Ringo, I'm sorry about your work situation. I'm sure it's stressful and I hope you will be back at work soon.

MLH, I take a few vitamins every day, too. I think it helps.

Midwest, you are so consistent in your exercising.

It's so cold here. We've had about 36 hours of temps around -28C (-19F) and overnight tonight and tomorrow will be even worse. I made it to my exercise class earlier in the week, but I miss walking. We went to a mall this afternoon just to walk for awhile.

Today I went to swim class, ate plenty, and I am drinking green tea.

Midwest, I completely understand. I went to my Exercise Class today, trudging through inches of slush, slippery patches, and puddles of water to get there. It was worth it.

Hi
Introducing myself. Thanks Anna for suggesting this thread. I am recovering after being sober for close to 3 years. Last week was my birthday and wedding anniversary and lets just say I played with fire and got burned. Pretty disappointed in myself. Hope to get to know you all Thanks

Welcome to the thread, Rose.

Be kind to yourself. You made a mistake, but you know what you need to do to stay sober. And, you can do it again.

Anna- I am always glad I went too. I am proud of us for keeping up with our exercise this winter!

Rose- welcome to this thread! I am looking forward to getting to know you too. Please donít be to hard on yourself. The important thing is to get back on track and put it behind you.

I went to step aerobics class and got a haircut.

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I made some delicious blueberry muffins and treated myself to one while they were still warm. A perfect thing to do on a winter day.

I think one thing Anna could do for ME is give me a blueberry muffin. J/K!

Been sick for a month with bronchitis, but hoping to get a massage this week. Ready for spring, tired of the cold!

Welcome Rose and Yinzer.

I'm back on SR. Please forgive my absence. While on the US govt furlough, I just couldn't bring myself to read or post. I took good care of myself though.

It was fun to attend AA meetings that I normally can't attend because of work hours. I walked and biked everywhere unless the car was absolutely needed. Lady the Coonhound now has a trim waist due to all our walks (smile).

Hi MW and everyone else! So good to be back. I'll do my best not to 'go dark' again--except on vacation.

With the help of God, OA and a dietician, my food plan got tweaked recently to be what I call 'cleaner' and the result, at least for now, is that I feel fantastic, weight is stable. Hoping to lose a couple pounds but if I don't, I'll accept it.

Have a great day gals! For the next 7 1/2 hours I need to knock as much work as I can. I came back to a pile of papers to process!
