Good morning Sisters.

MLH I love your advice about leaving something to the following day before addressing it. I'm sure that helps to take some of the emotional pitfalls out of it and leaves you to address the issue rather than attacking the person.

Barbs I hope you are having a wonderful time.

Anna that sounds wonderful going to see a play. Was that in Toronto at the Royal Alexandria? That would be walking distance from where Mr Troy and I often stay in December. Hmmmm....

Welcome Rox

Ringo one of the things I most enjoy about being retired is having the time to work on things *I* want to work on. Even my new "part time" job (yeah right - lol) is something I want to be doing.

Hey Midwest; hope all is well

I am finally starting to feel better from this cold/sore throat. I lost my voice for a few days, so I'm glad we are on March Break. Hard to teach when you can't talk lol. Got a lovely visit in with my girls yesterday. Then booked a trip to England with my mom for a family visit later this spring. Life is good

Have a wonderday day everyone.

good morning ladies! I have been traveling so I haven't posted a lot. We went out west and I enjoyed walking at the beach and all the shopping. I had a really nice time. Now we are back home and I am freezing!

I am already back in my gym routine and feel great. I have a regular doctor appointment tomorrow.

Helen- I am glad you are feeling better and was able too spend time with the new grand baby. The trip to England will be nice too!! I am glad you are able to do all of that.

Ringo- great job catching yourself the other day and making amends! You had a busy day yesterday.

Anna- that play does sound great. I'll have to read about it.

Barbs- I am glad you enjoyed your trip! How is Lucy?

Rox- welcome to this thread! self care is so important in sobriety!

MLH- *waves*

I am going to go to the gym, clean house, and maybe do some journaling.

Anna, the brain/gut connection is physical, mental and emotional. I've just started the book. I read the other day that the brain communicates 90% to the gut but the gut only "talks back" 10%. Meaning that the gut doesn't the brain as much as the brain needs the gut. That was my take, at least.

MW, glad you enjoyed your trip. My Monday plans went to H E double toothpicks!

Between 7-7:30 am, my stomach bloated to the point that I looked pregnant. The stabbing pain didn't happen; I just had the discomfort of a huge belly. For the next 2 1/2 hrs I debated with myself about leaving work. Just before 11am I had my desk clear of paperwork so I told my boss I was ill and headed home.

Was depressed, went to bed. All plans out the window. My stepdaughter changed our call to tonight as she got out of work late.

Will attempt to exercise today as that always helps me feel better. I'm considering calling my therapist who I haven't seen in two years since I was doing so well. If I have a cold, I don't feel the least bit embarrassed or ashamed; it's entirely different with a stomach ache--not only am I embarrassed and ashamed, I feel guilty--like I caused it. Next comes depression and then thoughts of I'd be better off dead.

I assure all of you I will not harm myself. I love my life too much. Thanks for listening (reading).

Anna - boring and mundane is all I want right now! To me, it is a great way to live.

Helen - I would love to go to England, you aren't attending a wedding are you?

Midwest - Waving back! And a high 5 for good measure!

Ringo - I do hope you start feeling better! I hate tummy troubles, give me anything else.

Getting ready for the purchasers final inspection Saturday. Everything is clean and smells nice Last weekend I bought a gorgeous dining room set, the table and wood on the chairs is mahogany and then the chairs are black leather. The neat part, the leaf runs lengthwise, so the table expands to a big square! Mr. Horsie said no more buying furniture until we move. The deliveries have been going in his garage, now he knows why I wanted him to clean it and get it ready for the move. It has become my storage space The new beds for the kids, the dining set, my couch is 8 weeks away. He did agree with me, I need new curtains, since I am leaving all mine and there are none in the new house. Pretty sure he won't notice a couple accent chairs and a console table LOL
I wimped out on the livingroom curtains, I bought these! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00GJB9QEK/..._TE_item_image They will go double rod, with beige sheers inbetween. It's perfect, the walls are a light sand colour, the sofa coming is a dark charcoal, a glass and mirror side table and tiffany blue side chairs. (Not that I bought the last few things - yet) With a big white shag rug - and a large glass wall keeping the husband, kids, dogs and cat out

MLH- LOL! This is how rumors start on SR! I love the curtains.

Ringo- I am so sorry you are feeling bad. That does sound really uncomfortable. I hope you rest as it passes and take care of yourself.

Thanks all. Feeling a little bit better physically. I did call the therapist I saw for two years around the death of my mother. I have an appt w/ her this Friday at 2pm. Time for a tune-up, gals.

Yoga yesterday was wonderful. I also did a leg/butt work-out. Now I'm slightly bummed because I'm up an additional two pounds. For the last two months, I've been up two pounds and staying steady. Now I am up four pounds and it has my attention.

My recovery doesn't allow for any drastic measures so I'm committing to myself and to all of you to take an honest look at my food intake and make adjustments as necessary. (Perhaps too much starchy food.)

Wishing you all a really good day.

Going to Zumba at noon.

Just imagine how good the fruitcake wedding favour would be. I am a total fruit cake ho. I am taking the day off work for that wedding!

Ringo, I hope you figure out what is bothering your tummy.

I have the afternoon off! Time with the girlies, $10 says they want a happy meal. The youngest was so mad at me last week, I was running from one job to another, slipped into a McPukes for something quick, saw their meals have gone up to $10 - so I grabbed a happy meal, which I normally prefer anyways, the offer of the toy from the meal did nothing to dispel her feeling of betrayal that I got a happy meal and they didn't ROFL.

I should drag my butt back to the gym too. I haven't been in a month, between everything that's gone on, I was sick and my lungs were bad, but I am much better and really have no excuse. Off I go - with the kids!

MLH, how nice to have an afternoon off work. You've been so busy lately, I hope you enjoy your down-time. And, it sounds like you're having fun decorating your new place. The curtains are really pretty, nice colours.

Ringo, I'm glad you're taking care of yourself regarding the tummy issues and I hope your therapy appointment is helpful. I don't worry about a couple of pounds but if I notice more than that, I pay attention too. It's much easier to deal with that way.

Helen, a trip to England sounds great. Does Thor go into a kennel when you go away?

I made Brownies today to help combat my annoyance with the cold weather. It was so windy here today.

Good morning Sisters.

Midwest I'm glad you had a nice trip. I'm impressed you are right back into your routines.

Ringo I'm sorry you have been feeling down. You recognized right away that you needed a "tune-up" - good for you for that and for following through.

MLH how exciting to be doing all this decorating. No weddings to attend this time around, just a "keeping in touch" visit. We usually do one "touristy" thing when we visit (last time was a tour of Windsor Castle and a drive-by of Stonehenge on our way to visit other relatives) so we will have to see what we can get up to this time. I've just finished watching all of Downton Abbey. Perhaps a drive-by of Highclere Castle where it was filmed...

Anna baking is a good idea; I haven't done any in much too long. Thor will stay with Mr Troy while I am gone. He may have to be boarded for a couple of days but we all agree that that is much better than for the full two weeks. I have a friend who will check on the kitties for me; they are very independent and only need an occasional cuddle.

Mr Troy and I are off to make Easter eggs with granddaughter#1 while mom takes granddaughter#2 for a checkup. He is so excited! lol

It's a beautiful sunny day here. Wishing you all a good one

Hello lovely ladies!

Anna - it was great having the afternoon off! soon I begin winding down my accounting duties and move to focus on my other business and the charities. Got some new promotional material ordered and we have 3 events in July! Going to be a busy summer.
I hope your brownies were wonderful I love brownies.

Helen - what kind of Easter eggs? Decorative or hard boiled and dyed or chocolate? I saw a recipe for Reese devilled eggs - blech LOL. We have nut allergies in our home, so I cannot make them, but they looked cool!

Happy Thursday ladies!

Helen, how great that MrTroy can look after Thor for most of your vacation. I have someone come in to look after my cat when I'm away. It's almost comical because my boy is so, so shy the cat-sitter usually only gets one glimpse of him during the whole week.
I hope you both have a blast with the Easter Eggs! It sounds like so much fun.

MLH, you have so many things on the go, you must never feel like you're in a rut. The brownies are delicious.

I hope everyone had a nice day. It was gorgeous here. I exercised this morning and then I baked cookies and a cake for a funeral. ( a friend passed away I went to church with) So I didn't sit down until recently but I did a lot of self care. Sit on the porch with coffee, soaked in epson salt, used good skin care, and good shampoo. Now I am drinking red tea and have a movie on.

Helen- I think it is great you do some sight seeing when you go to England. I hope you had a fun time decorating those Easter eggs.

Anna- it was very pretty here today and tomorrow is the rain. The brownies sound great! I am going to grab a few of the cookies I made earlier as a snack. lol.

MLH- that is great you had the afternoon off the other day. It is good to stay busy but having some down time is a must!

Ringo- I hope the therapy appointment goes well tomorrow and that you are feeling better. I have been down a little also. I think it is weird since the weather is getting nicer. I am trying to shake it off! I did some gratitude work today.

HI to everyone I missed!

Finally got back to the gym. Lungs still not back 100 percent. Pretty rough during cardio. Oh how I missed hanging leg raises, like a chiropractor machine. As somebody who sits a lot, i love hearing the pop, pop, pop of my spine. The relief after. Off to bed early. Night ladies.

Good morning ladies.

Ringo, I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. You always impress me with how in tune to your health you are. I started back to therapy a month or two ago. I find it very helpful to get another persons perspective on things. I hope it helps.

Helen, England sounds wonderful. Glad Mr. Troy and take care of Thor most of the trip. I always loved decorating Easter eggs with the kids. I hope all of you had fun

MW - I'm glad you had a good time on your vacation. Good for you for getting right back into your work outs!

MLH - glad you got some time off to spend with the kids. Glad you got back to the gym. Take it slow and don't over due

Anna - I could use some brownies here too Coming back from Florida to two feet of snow and the wind chill is a shock to the system

We made it back home to over two feet of snow yesterday afternoon. Our neighbors were so wonderful, they had cleared our driveway for us. Hubby still had to snow blow the side/back of the yard so we could park the trailer, but he loves his snow blower so it wasn't so bad, lol.

We slept in this morning. I have thoughts of going to the gym this afternoon, but will probably wait until tomorrow afternoon. Spending the day doing laundry, food shopping and getting Lucy's nails clipped.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

My self care for today was to cancel my evening plans. I've been out of town taking care of my elderly uncle's business affairs, then had to attend a large funeral today. Just enjoyed a lovely bath and am now sipping peppermint tea
