Hi everyone.

Yes I am very fortunate to be able to cool off in the pool. To be honest I rarely use it, but I am trying to change that this year. I have been in four times so far which is probably more than the last three years combined lol. But the dog loves it, so there's that.

I stopped wearing my big ugly boot after two weeks but my foot was swollen and sore last night so I think I may have been pushing it a bit. So the big ugly boot is back on my foot. Well except for when I am on my floaty in the pool I've also been spending some time reading, something I love but don't do nearly enough.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Hello Gals!

Can't say it's hot here. Might get in the 70's today. Mind you, I'm near the bay, usually a nice breeze. People come here either to visit or for work and they don't leave! (smile) My father did that when I was about 10. I'm as close to being a local as possible, I guess.

It was hard but I laid low all weekend to heal my back and my gut. Never left the house Saturday. Missed two evening events (Fri/Sat). Grateful to be feeling well enough to secretary the 9am Step Study yesterday and grocery shop with Mr. Ringo.

At work today feeling ok. Going to spin class today. Take care all.

MLH- I am glad you had a nice time at the play! I hope you stay cool. It has been hot here too.

Helen- I am glad you are enjoying your pool and reading. That sounds really fun until your foot totally heals. It sounds like you are making the best of your circumstances. I have been reading the same book for 6 months. lol. So I hear ya about the reading.

Ringo- great job on resting while your body heals...I know that is hard to do. I hope you are feeling better today.

Yesterday I went hiking with a friend and today I am doing dance class again. I am taking it easy for a few days with my exercise. I need a bit of a break! I hope everyone has a happy 4th of July. I am making a fruit tart....cool whip, cream cheese, and powdered sugar mixed up in a graham cracker crust with berries on top. It is to hot to run the oven.

I'm happy and grateful to report that I enjoyed a sober and abstinent Independence Day celebration. I don't want to ever take for granted being able to tuck in my shirt the morning after a holiday or a Sunday.

For those of you with experience of the 'diet/binge' cycle, you probably know just what I'm talking about. (smile)

Yoga at noon and a sponsee at 5p.

Yesterday went great. Kept to my plan which feels so good.

Rode bike to work today, hit the weights at noon. Going to bike to the farmer's market tomorrow. Haven't done that in months.

Sad to hear about Gilmer. She may have posted here a time or two. We weren't close but I recall her posts were always supportive, loving and wise.

MLH- I hope the horse event goes well! It sounds like a super busy weekend for you.

Ringo- isn't it nice to have a great holiday instead of a miserable one! I hope you find something nice at the farmers market. Thanks for mentioning Gilmer. I found her thread.

Yesterday I went swimming at the gym and then I was lazy for most of the day and ate ice cream. lol. I feel like a little kid just enjoying my summer.

MW, the farmer's market was crowded--had to be the wonderful weather. My favorite farmer was there. I buy from her first and then get the rest from other vendors. She recommended the Chinese spinach, so we're having that with halibut tonight.

I hope all had a pleasant weekend. I sure did. Both Sat & Sun lunch contained bread which is a bit of stretch for me; not something I do often. Eating real clean today.

Having leftover Chinese spinach with my breakfast today. It was so good. Will purchase again. Rode bike to work today. Pleased with my weigh-in: 125.8.

Hi Beautiful Ladies, I hope you are all doing well!

I've been away visiting my son, daughter-in-law and 3 of my grandchildren. It's been very busy and very fun. I had a wonderful time, but it's good to be home. I have so much catching up to do on this thread, but right now, I'm doing laundry.

Hi MLH and Anna. I bet MW is having a good time with her mom.

Hello to all. I am pumped this morning. Not sure why; not going to question it!

Maybe it's because I rode my bike yesterday, ate a deliciously, nutritious dinner and woke up sober, abstinent, in love with my husband and grateful to God.

Or maybe it's because I'm wearing a new outfit and I look great.

Good morning Sisters.

Busy life here, which I guess is a good thing. For me today I was just about to order a couple of new bras (something I don't do nearly often enough!) but then realized they will likely be shipped while I am out of town at Mr Troy's this weekend. So now you know what my "thing for me today" for Monday will be lol

Hope you are all enjoying your summer. I actually took a down day yesterday and just read (for pleasure) all day.

Have a good one!

Helen, what a wonderful thing to do for yourself.

Anna, would you believe the whole day yesterday was fantastic? I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Yoga at noon.

wow it sounds like everyone is doing amazing and enjoying their summer. I am too. I had a great time with my mom! I came home yesterday and walked 3 miles at the gym, did laundry & dishes, washed all the sheets & towels, and did some major yard work! I slept like a baby.

Ringo- I am really glad to hear you are feeling a lot better!! yay!!

Helen- All of that reading sounds relaxing. I hope you enjoyed the weekend with Mr. Troy.

Anna- I am glad you got to spend time with family too. I feel the most like myself around my family.

MLH- I hope you enjoy your camping trip ! The weather here has been perfect for it.

Happy Friday to everyone!

It occurred to me that checking in with you on this thread is One Thing I Did For Myself.

Some of you might remember me posting last year that I didn't have what you'd call a (female) buddy or best friend, which led me to SR in the beginning. All of you have become my posse (AA lingo for group of supportive friends.)

I'm making progress on the non-virtual friend thing. I love my OA sponsor whom has become my friend (presently not the kind of friend you do stuff with) and I have an OA friend who I stay in contact with. Our friendship is slowly blossoming to outside of Program. And my sister in Colorado and I stay in contact with each other too.

So I am not alone after all. I always have God. Mr. Ringo is my best friend.

No complaints.

Midwest sleep is always the best!

Helen a down day reading is awesome

Anna, glad you got family time, I hope this weather is being nice to you

Ringo your positivity shines through in your posts 😁 I love reading them

Cancelled camping, complete burn bans in effect everywhere. Scared to leave our place for any length of time. You just don't know. We desperately need a rain.

So instead I put down a couple flats of strawberries, got some kimchi fermenting, picked up some chickens, more on the way next week. (Friends are starting to butcher). So not for myself so much, but being a bit more ant than grasshopper right now. As hot and beautiful as it is, winter is a coming. It is so nice to say, groceries, oh we need milk. Milk is only thing I don't freeze.

Good morning Sisters.

Ringo I'm glad everything is going well for you. I have to agree that checking in here is indeed something positive we do for ourselves.

Midwest you make me want to get out and walk. I'm a little gunshy after breaking my foot so easily while walking the dog. I guess I feel face to face with the fact that I'm not getting any younger, and I need to be more careful. At least I'm not staggering around anymore - that could definitely lead to some broken bones! lol

MLH we are planning a camping trip in a couple of weeks to either Wheatley or Rondeau so the fire ban will likely still be in effect. I understand the need to stay home and ensure the safety of your brood. The grass is really crunchy right now. My gosh you are so busy! But I'll bet you eat well all winter

I just ordered my new bras (yay!) and now we are heading out to do some maintenance on the popup trailer. Hopefully we get good weather all day.

Happy Sunday everyone
