CT, it's great that you see your endurance increasing. The hard work is paying off. LOL, a face mask to make you look ten years younger! I wish! Fingers crossed that you get good news about the proposal.

Ringo, enjoy your visit to Colorado and spending time with your sister and family. I've never been to Colorado, but I know it's beautiful.

The street I live on has a Music Fest beginning this evening and through the weekend. It's one of the many things I love about my neighbourhood. The street is closed and there are about 6 bands on each block, alternating with one another. It's so much fun to wander and listen and enjoy the summer.

Ringo- I hope you have a great time in Colorado! the spin class sounds great.

Anna- the music fest sounds like a lot of fun. Do they have food vendors too?

Helen- I love hair products! Yay!! I am always trying different brands of shampoo.

CreativeThinker- some face masks are moisturizing and some are exfoliating. It depends on what you need. I have a Paula choice moisturizing one that is really nice you can leave it on 20 minutes or even overnight. Also I really like the ones I have from perfectly posh. Both of those aren't cheap but you get a lot of uses out of the tubes. Always moisturize after the exfoliating ones. HTH's.

I went to the gym and walked 3 miles.

Good morning Sisters.

Mr. Troy went home yesterday after he was off work for two weeks of vacation. I love him to death but two weeks is a long time to be together 24-7 when you are used to being alone during the week! lol I couldn't get into my sewing room fast enough last night. I'm now the proud owner of a white peplum top to wear with plaid leggings To be fair he doesn't stop me or discourage me from doing whatever I want, it's just that we have such limited time together that I feel I need to spend all of it with him when we have the opportunity. I need to work on that if we are going to live together full time after he retires!

Busy day today. I'm colouring my hair that is way overdue. I have a Dr.'s appt and then I have to pack and hit the road for the two and a half hour drive up to Mr. Troy's as we have a wedding to go to this weekend.

Wishing you all a wonderful day

Helen- the peplum top sounds beautiful! I love that you did it in white. You will be able we wear it with anything. I am jelly! I think when you and Mr. Troy live together you will fall into a nice routine. There is always a learning curve. I am sure your hair will turn out great I did mine 6 weeks ago and already have some dark roots ugh.... I hope you have fun at the wedding.

Good Morning Sistas!

Beautiful morning here today. Going to go for my workout, do at least 15 min of strength training, then working in the office all day (preparing data for the accountant).

MW- Thanks for the mask tips. I'll look for them over the weekend. Good job on hitting 3 mi. I need a long workout today as yesterday was short due to my butt being sore. If we get this account I am going to join a gym here. I never signed up after we moved last summer, then when we lost the accounts, I put it on hold.

Helen- The new top sounds nice. Send us a pic!

Anna-Thanks for updating the thread. The music fest sounds like a BLAST! I know what you mean about increasing the endurance...THEN seeing the results! The Fitbit really challenges me to do more...LOVE IT! I've been pretty good this week on what I've been eating (the weekends are the hardest). I weighed myself this morning and still, no change. I expect that when I get on the scales I'll be down 10lbs...HA! Just kidding.

CreativeThinker- I joined a fitness plan through my health insurance. It is $25 dollars a month and I can go to different gyms locally and when I travel. It is really a good deal. You may want to check out your insurance and see if they have something like that. Enjoy your workout!!

Yes, Midwest, amazing food vendors. It's all so very tempting. Midwest, the fitness plan through your health insurance sounds terrific. What a great deal!

Helen, you made me smile talking about two weeks being a long time to be together 24/7. I love my husband dearly, but I also LOVE my 'alone' time. You will easily get into a rhythm that suits you both. Enjoy the wedding.

CT, I bet you look great and feel good with all the exercise you do. I hope you have the opportunity to join the gym. I'm not sure if I said that the Turkey burgers were a big hit. I plan to begin using more turkey and cutting out the red meat as much as possible.

I painted my toenails and fingernails today. I spent some time pruning the flowers so they look neater. One of the flower containers got incredibly soaked during one of the major rainfalls and the flowers are struggling, but all in all it's worked out well. I have learned more about spacing and which plants spread nicely.

Hello Sisters.

Anna the flowers sound lovely. I find gardening a learning curve as well.

Everyone is doing well keeping up with their exercises. That program through the insurance plan sounds like a really good deal.

I just got to Mr. Troy's at 9pm. I made another peplum top this afternoon (red this time) and then I was ready to leave when I realized the pool pump wasn't working. I had to replace the electrical outlet before I left or I would come home to a green pool. Then i got stuck in a major traffic jam on the expressway that added an extra hour to my drive. Whew! But I'm here now and looking forward to the rest of my weekend.

Have a good night everyone!

Helen- My goodness...you are incredible...master electrician, plumber, sewing queen...is there anything you can't do?

MW- Good idea for me to check my insurance policy to see if I qualify for discounts at the gym. My next door neighbor was at the pool the other day and she offered to take me with her to her gym to see if I might be interested in joining. I think I'm good until this winter...but I'll check it out either way. Thanks for the info on the masks. I'll look for them.

Anna- Glad you enjoyed the turkey burgers. As I mentioned earlier, I made them too this week. I used the leftover meat for chili. Last night I made taco salad with the chili...SO good!

Slept late this morning (felt great). I was exhausted after my day yesterday: ran/walked 4.5mi, went to the pool and did laps, worked in the office, went shopping (13, 000 steps on the Fitbit). Made blueberry pancakes for breakfast today. Working out this afternoon and doing laundry today. An old friend from HS, who is now living less than 40 min from me reached out to me via text last night. We haven't seen each other since 1998. I'm going to follow up with her and try to get together within the next few weeks. It will be good to see her again.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

I am so grateful that I could share the four grandsons' care with eldest kid's in law's. We had a wonderful, altho sometimes frustrating, week with the boys and mil's wonderful cooking. I gained five lbs while I was there.

Eldest kid and her hubby got a kid free week (the first in years) and me and mil talked and ate and drank coffee.

It was a good week.

I'm very glad that you had the MIL's help, and that you two had such a pleasant time together.

How kind you were to give your daughter that break. I'll bet they treasured it like gold!

I'll bet Jack and Billie were thrilled to see you back, though, and Freddie and Lily, too!

Well, I picked them up. There was a mix up and no one was at the vet to let us in to get the dogs and bro's cat. I called the vet's emergency number and told him and he sent the office manager out to let us get our critters.

My mood is so much better when I'm around my dogs and cats. They make me feel happy and content. I can't feel depressed too much or too long around the critters.

Now we are back to life as usual.

Least- I am glad you had fun with your grandchildren and inlaws. The meals sound wonderful too. That is great that you picked up your critters and things are back to normal! I hope you enjoy your day with them.

CreativeThinker- 13,000 steps is great! I have been busy since Friday so I had a 3 day break from exercise. I will definitely go to the gym sometime today. / I think it is a great idea to meet up with your friend! I love going out to lunch and shopping with my friends but we don't get too that often.

Helen- that is great you were able to change that plug in before you went away for the weekend. You are on a roll with home repairs. I need some of that motivation our kitchen sink is still leaking and DH just said he needs to fix it. So I hope we get to that soon. / The red peplum top sounds beautiful. I wore mine yesterday with a blue skirt to church. I got compliments on it.

I have been busy but I have been drinking plenty of water, taking vitamins, and taking care of my skin.

I leave tomorrow for my mom's so if I am not on this week that is where I am . She has that procedure on Wed.

Hi all! It sounds like everyone has been very busy being creative and active.

I just got back from my vacation and am now back at work. Was supposed to do spin class this morning but my BF backed out and I joined him in sleeping in. I felt like I really needed the sleep so maybe that's ok.

Least, I picture you at home, enjoying your critters and relaxing after your week helping out your daughter and family. I know your daughter will be forever grateful for the week off you gave her.

Helen, you are so talented. We had a pipe burst under the kitchen sink and thankfully, MrAnna is DIY guy and got it fixed fairly quickly. I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Apple, I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Sleeping in is an awesome idea!

It's a quiet day here, but I got a haircut. My hair is wavy and in the humid weather it's kind of wild and free, so a haircut was due.

I've been spoiling my dogs since I got them home yesterday. Just gave them one of their favorite biscuits, then gave them a second one.

I'm about to take Billie for a little walk.

Bro will have my car again tonight and tomorrow as his won't be done til tomorrow. So glad I have a good car to lend him.

On my week's vacation I:
had a variety of freshly-made juice combinations;
made my own plans for most mornings rather than letting them be derailed by well-meaning family;
had two natural-therapist relaxation sessions - very relaxing and helpful;
indulged myself a little, buying a few clothes, books, dvds;
came home feeling deeply refreshed and energised - it was so good to "get out of my own way" for a while;
realised I can have mini-vacations in my own town, my own home, visiting parks, having simple picnics etc.
