Back from Mexico, gals. Bet you didn't even notice I was not on this thread. That's okay!

I have a lot to catch up on--at work and of course here on SR. Welcome to anyone who joined since 7 July. I took good care of myself while on vacation. No sunburn! Nice tan though. I feel fantastic.

Talk with you later, my friends!

Ringo- I am glad you had a nice vacation!! Good job not getting burned that is hard to do! I am glad you are back.

My mom has an appointment today with her doctor. She may need a hysterectomy but not sure yet.

I had a healthy breakfast and took my vitamins. I plan on doing a YouTube exercise video and doing a face mask!

I love this thread it sure keeps me moving!

CT- have you tried out your Fitbit yet? I still have been praying for you for that account.

Hi all, had a really busy weekend with lots of fun and fitness. Got to hang out with my boyfriend's lifelong best friend who is visiting from Wisconsin. He's the first person in recovery that I have had a chance to talk to. Really nice guy.

I did not get enough time to recharge with quiet time this weekend, so I will definitely be taking some time in the evenings this week.

Where in Mexico did you go Ringo?
Are you feeling better, CT?
I haven't done a facemask in years, Midwest, but it sounds nice. Maybe I will pick one up after work.

Have a lovely sober day, everyone!

Apple- I love face masks! They have so many different types just at the drugstore. Sheet masks are really popular right now but I haven't tried one. I am glad you were able to talk to someone in recovery. I always think it is awesome when I meet someone who I feel like I was suppose to for some reason. I hope you get some quiet time in soon.

I did get my hour of exercise in and I did a face mask. I feel great it is so gorgeous outside!

Today I went for a walk;
had a few minutes' quiet prayer, reflection and meditation;
used my nice face-cleansers morning and evening;
did some household tasks and tidying I'd been deferring.

Welcome back Ringo! Glad you had a great time and are feeling refreshed....and Yes, you were missed!

MW- Thanks for sending good vibes for me regarding the new account. This week we're sending the proposal. After the submission, we plan to take a week and get away...we need it...in oh so many ways!

Apple- I LOVE my Fitbit! Still learning a lot in how to use it. Today was the first day that I used it during my workout. I really love being able to see what my heart rate is so that I stay in my fat burning zone. Also love the sleep tracker!

Caramel- Your day sounds peaceful. Glad you made time for yourself.

Glimer- Thanks for clarifying Wilbur's breed. OMG, he looks like such a character! Still thinking about getting myself a dog. I've totally been procrastinating it.

Today was the first day I was able to get back to my workout program. I went 2.5 mi and swam in the pool (its super hot here). That stomach flu did not want to let go! I almost went yesterday, but I still wasn't 100% so I didn't push it. Did my nails, did some grocery shopping...having grilled salmon, roasted broccoli and tossed salad for dinner.

DH and I are doing OK. Over the weekend I was laying low due to the flu and he actually watched a few alcoholism documentaries with me. I think they might have hit him pretty hard because he hasn't had a drink since...baby steps!

Sorry for the long spew...just needed to catch up.

Have a great night everyone!

Midwest, I hope your mom gets good news at the doctors. I'll be brining my mom to an orthopedic appointment next week. She may need another knee replacement.

Ringo - I have never been to Mexico but can't wait to hear how your trip was.

Apple - your fall training program has me achy just thinking about it but goog for you! I haven't been able to run for a few years due to a knee issue but when I did, 5 miles was about it. Now I stick to free weights and an exercise bike with a few muscle structure dvds and yoga thrown in.

Caramel - quiet prayer, reflection and meditation sounds so wonderful!

I had a busy weekend camping and we ran into one of my husbands very old and dear friends. He was sitting in a row behind us at a concert. Unfortunately, he is an alcoholic and was plying my husband with booze. Hubby ended up drunk (which very seldom happens). Made me think of all the times that was me. Hubby slept it off for a few hours and we were able to salvage a beautiful evening by the fire

CT - Hope you're feeling better.

Ringo, I'm glad you had a good time in Mexico and we did miss your smiling face.

Midwest, I hope your mother's drs appointment goes well. This thread keeps me going, too. I am adding more weight-bearing exercises to keep my bones strong.

Apple, it sounds like you had a fun weekend. I like some quiet time to recharge, too. In fact, it's really important to me.

CT, I'm glad the alcoholism documentaries seem to have your husband thinking. This might be something that starts a new beginning for him. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I'm glad you had fun camping.

We're heading off for a mini-road trip to an outdoor concert which should be fun, and on Wednesday my sister-in-law arrives for about 5 days. I am so, so grateful for my two sisters-in-law. They treat me like a sister. Since my parents and brother have passed away, it's even more important to have them in my life.

Good morning all! I love to read the posts from this thread and feel inspired to do good things for myself.

I went to yoga class this morning and my training group does speed work tonight. (Half mile fast as you can repeats).

BF's friends will be staying with us again (not sure if I said here or not but he's in recovery-7 years). I enjoy their company but will probably turn in early so I can have some down time before bed.

Hope everyone is taking good care today!

Barbs- I hope the appointment with the orthopedic goes well for your mom and they get her taken care of.

Leigh- the walk sounds wonderful!

Anne- I hope you have a great time at the outdoor concert. Good job on the weight bearing exercises! I googled what women my age should be doing for their health...isn't it great we have all this knowledge we can apply to live healthier lives! What did people do without the internet! lol.

CreativeThinker- I am glad you are feeling better and like your new fitbit! I am glad you are planning a week away. I think you will both enjoy that.

Apple- the yoga class sounds great. I love taking classes at the gym. It is nice.

Caramel- I am glad you recharged!

HI to everyone I missed! My mom has to have a leep procedure done to get rid of the abnormal cells. I'll go and be with her when she does that. / I plan on going to the gym soon, eating a healthy breakfast, and taking my vitamins.

Hello all. Apple & Barbs, glad you've joined us.

Apple, we went to San Jose del Cabo in Baja California Sur (a little north of Cabos San Lucas). We did go to San Lucas one day where we attended an AA meeting. Sure glad we didn't stay there--too much of a party town. Those days are over for me. San Jose was quieter and had a beautiful 'old town' area which we enjoyed walking to.

To Barbs & anyone else interested: Besides a lot of walking (which I thoroughly enjoyed even tho very hot--lots of sun screen and a hat), activities included horse backing riding on the beach, kayaking and snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez (San Lucas), learning to make tortillas and different salsas, hanging out at the pool, zumba class at the pool, watching TV cuddled up with my amazing husband, attending church at a historic mission, and eating delicious, fresh and organic food just about everywhere we went (certainly not the mass-produced chain restaurant "food products" served in the U.S.).

The couple of pounds gained are already gone.

I do face masks also: Sat and Sun mornings. A mud mask on Sat (I think it's to unclog pores) and a skin tightening mask Sun mornings.

MW, because of your recovery, you are present and available for your mom. What a blessing.

Hey Sistas!

Glad to see everyone is doing well.

Ardy- DR concert sounds amazing!

Ringo- What a vacation! No wonder you feel so refreshed. I need a vaca like yours!

MW-I hope all goes well with your Mom.

Barbs & Apple- I totally agree with you regarding this thread being a daily motivator. We ROCK!!!

Anna- Your road trip sounds fun. Enjoy the time with your SILs!

I got up this morning and got dressed for my workout but when I walked outside it was WAY too hot. Waiting until the afternoon to go, should be cooler by then. Paid bills, going to cut DH's hair and clean the upstairs today.

Make it a great day gals!

Ringo- what an awesome vacation!!! You are inspiring me to investigate adventures in Florida when I visit my dad next month. Since he has been retired, cocktail hour starts at 3:00. I have always come home from my visits with him needing to dry out, but not this time!

We always do active things but for a small part of the day. I will plan more things so the evening isn't spent sitting around. We decided to drive down so we will have a car which will really help.

Hi Gals!

Barbs, is the brown and white dog in your picture a hound dog by any chance? The shape of his ears looks very familiar... (smile)

I had a good time and a good work out at an 80's themed spin class yesterday. Delicious dinner of baked chicken and salad. Took Lady for a walk when hubby went to work (he works 8p-4:30am). Finally caught up on email at work. Now for this 1 & 1/2" stack of paperwork!
