Sitting behind the couch

So i am currently sitting behind the couch after an delightful argument with my husband of 6 months wondering if i made an epic mistake, he wants to die and i dont want him to, be is an alcoholic which i didn't know when i married him...an tonight again.... we had an argument when he thought it was a good idea to punch the fridge and dent it again.....which i said was stupid, i was getting ready to skype my mum and dad which i do maybe once or twice a forthnight and he sat there with a dog toy which squeaks and every time i tried to talk he squezed it so i could not have a conversation. I disabled the "squeaker" and he cracked it tried to shut my computer 3 times while i was talking to them i had to tell them i would call tomorrow due to a bad line. He literally cracked the ***** that i had stopped the squeaker in a dog toy.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with such a difficult situation newwife.
You've found a place of great support and understanding here.

I'm worried you describe yourself as sitting behind the couch tho - do you feel like you're in danger?

D

I don't want to scare you Newwife, but if he's still arguing and emotional, make sure you keep the rows out of the kitchen, or anywere with sharp objects. I've been in your situation in the past and that is standard advice given out by Women's Aid, here in the UK.

Can you not go for a walk or visit someone and let things calm down?

Please keep yourself safe x

Newwife28, I'm sorry to hear you're living with this type of behavior.

You don't deserve to live this way. Can your parents help?

Sure you're conflicted, Newwife28. Keep posting and working on your plan. Most importantly, keep safe.

SR has a Friends and Family forum with numerous members in a similar situation. I know you'll find support there. Here's the link if you want to check it out.
