Well i just found this site and I thank God that i did im still coming off a 2 or 3 month binge(on 3rd day) I was in a treatment center once yrs ago and they told me it takes around 7 days for the alcohol to leave the system I guess lately thats when I would start feeling normal and do it all over again after the accumulation of months worth of alcohol in my system I've finally hit the bottom where I almost ended it all but thanks to this site im still here. thank you

We've ridden our motorcycle to Sturgis
3 times now, the last time was 2 yrs ago.
While there we rode to the Central AA office
in Deadwood to pick up my 23rd yrs. sobriety
anniversary chip.

We are setting our sights on next yrs. 75th
Sturgis Bike Rally and will go back to the
office to pick up my 25th sobriety chip.

Maybe we can see you sober there when
we ride to your AWESOME state to enjoy
another yr. sober, Mt. Rushmore and Devils
Tower. PS.....they have Delicious Ice Cream
on a cone there to enjoy along with all those
AWESOME bikes parked outside the store.

Whatcha say?

Smile 23 years!

I am 45 years old and looking forward to not drinking today....I have really only had a serious problem in the past 5 years...my brother died suddenly he was my best friend and I have spiraled from the day I picked up his ashes at the funeral home..I am not to the point of when I drink rather it be 3 glasses of wine or 3 bottles I have black outs...last Saturday was my LAST drink. I am feeling sad like mourning a relationship....I look up to women like yourself who have 23 years... there is hope for women like me...

justme21......Im so sorry to hear that ur brother
passed on. Taking time to mourn is ok. Take all
the time you need. Then celebrate the joys he
brought to you. He probably would want you to
be happy and smile thinking of all the good times
you shared together.

There is hope for each one of us as we enter
recovery learning about our addictions and its
affects on each of us differently.

Learning about addiction is very important.
We have to be taught the whys it happens
to certain people and not others. It doesn't
mean we bad people, but rather ill or sick
from the poison that travels thru out our bodies
from head to toe.

Once the poison is out of the body, then
we begin to heal and work on issues that
we used alcohol to numb or not deal with.

I learned to LISTEN, LEARN ABSORB, APPLY
all there is to know about our addiction so
that we can live a happy joyous free life in
recovery for yrs down the road.
