When I posted my thread, 'Like a lover' yesterday, I feel this morning it needs some clarification, that thought alone being a mark of my sobriety. For in my drinking days I was unable to clarify anything!

To me the best form of relationships exist when the other person makes you happy, by just being themselves. Most people get it the other way around, and spend their lives seeking to make others happy...which often leads only to frustration and disappointment, so, as an objective observer, you know,'it'll all end in tears'.

In handing my life and will over to the god of my understanding, wherein lies the core of my recovery and sobriety.The god of my understanding has made me happy, by loving me, like a lover, in my just being myself.....and providing I take steps to, enlarge the spiritual aspects of my life in all areas. Including primarily my compassion, patience and tolerance, both to others and myself, will continue to do do so unconditionally.

I could ask for no greater gift in life, than that ...
