one year
have been clean for a year as of feb 25 wow!! I look back on that year and think that was the hardest thing i had ever done. just all the feelings of guilt shame that i had to face sober. not easy. after reading the big book a couple times i stayed in it day to day.pausing when upset saying to myself this to shall pass. praying and praying not to get caught up in self pity and a thousand other emotions. dealing with using dreams waking up thinking i had gotten high.even dealing with other people sober.it was like being born all over again at 45 yrs old.I would like to hear from someone who has gone through this journey with some words of encouragement. thanks KUMBAYA
Congratulations on your year Kumbaya

Kumbaya....I know exactly how you feel. Only I was "born again" at 55 years old. My sober date is also close to yours.....Feb. 1, 2011. Congrats on your year!! Think I'll check out Dee74's thread suggestion. I, too, would like to talk to people that have a year under their belts to hear about their journey. (p.s. I'm still having drinking dreams and NOT happy about that).
