Now my mama cat is sick.
Now my mama cat is sick.
Some of you know already that I had my precious Patsy-cat put to sleep in early May. Then my husband's oldish border collie gave us a scare about a month after that. Now Mariann is not doing so well. Her once thick and soft coat is rough and thin and she's lost a lot of weight.
I'm hoping she doesn't have feline leukemia because she hasn't been vaccinated against that in years. I've had a cat with feline leukemia and it's no fun at all. I'm taking Mariann to the vet tomorrow or later in the week. Please remember us in your thoughts and prayers! Thanks!!
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Oh, Eddie, I'm so sorry to hear that. We had our precious dog Blaze put to sleep in Feb. It was so difficult, I too have 2 other dogs that are old, and not in the best health, and it would be really terrrible for us if one of them also got sick. I feel for you.
Our pets are members of our family, and it truly hurts when one is sick.
I will keep you and Mariann in my pprayers...
Love, Becky

Hey Eddie...
I have full sympathy for your buddy....
I have an older cat and dog that I dread having to deal with losing...
I had to put down a 15 year old standard bred poodle that I left way too long...
I always swear that when these critter buddies are gone... no more animals...
But.. they add such an amazing dimension to one's life...
Hopeing for good news for you...

Thank you, too, bikewench! What I am really dreading is when this 11 year-old border collie goes, because he is my husband's baby and I don't know how he's going to handle it. Fortunately, he is doing well now. Thank HP!

I'm taking my cat to the vet tomorrow also. She just isn't himself and he seem real skinny even though he is still eating. He has lost his meow, nothing comes out of his mouth or it is very faint. I hate it when the furry babies get sick! Hope everything is ok with yours, Eddie.

Mariann is still eating, but she did throw up earlier this week, so that may explain her weight loss if she's been doing that outside, too. I will add you and your boy to my prayers!

Well, she doesn't have feline leukemia or AIDS, thank HP!! But they won't know what IS the problem until they get bloodwork back tomorrow. I'm also supposed to try to get a urine sample for them to check since they couldn't get any today. They gave her some fluids and sent her home for the night. She did get a rabies vaccine, too, because she was overdue and rabies is a BIG problem here in NC. So, I'm waiting again. Thanks, everybody, for all the support and prayers!
How is your kitty, Kathy?

Anna, with Toby I just hand him a bottle and tell him "go fill it".
Still thinking about you, Eddie, and me and Toby are hoping this is just a cat flu kinda thing or a big furball that needs to be...uhhh...passed?
Hugs
