Up way to early. Bathroom alarm around 3:30. So much for bragging about my wonderful sleep pattern.
Flip flops and T-shirts one day, sweaters and boots the next. That’s what I’ll blame lack of sleep on.
Coffee and an early bedtime is the plan.

Happy Wednesday to all.

You have the craziest weather in your part of the country Imvalentine! A guy from Colorado on another thread said he went from the nineties to 27 and snow, then expecting to be back in the 80's over the weekend.

Enjoy whatever season you are experiencing today!

It’s 42 degrees now CK. Flip flop weather forecast for a couple days next week. It still gets so darn cold at night they will be packed up very soon.

Happy Friday to us all!

Six a.m. here.
Smoke from fires on US west coast is getting heavier every day. I'm stuffed up but fortunately we haven't had to evacuate.

Finally a shot of cooler weather here. It was 45 F this morning, so I had the windows open. Bird migration is in full force. I heard on the news that 53,000 birds migrated overnight in my area alone. My hummingbirds have been absent for ten days or so. I drove to a hawk sanctuary yesterday in the foothills of the nearby mountains and saw a lot of migrating broad winged hawks heading south. I am interested to see which birds stay the season. I expect my blue jays, cardinals and wood peckers to hang year round. Curious to see if any unusual birds hit my feeders on their journey south.

Have a good day all!

I am looking into the bird watching group here. Of course with the virus no activities planned now but it would be fun in the future. It was a scene from Alfred Hitchcock a few mornings back. Hundreds migrating. The noise was incredible. A lot of them hit up the food in back and moved on. I believe they were grackles. I need a bird class!

A pleasant Thursday to all.

Imvalentine, there are some good bird apps that you can download to your phone. Try using the Audubon app, which is full of info, and free, and the Merlin Bird ID app, from Cornell. Both have helped me in identifying birds. Also, a paperback bird guide is invaluable.

Been sleeping better with the windows open past few nights. We don't have many nights between too hot and too cold for window use.

Have a good day all!

Late riser today.

Thanks for the info star. Both apps are on my phone now and I’m pretty sure the huge noisy flock were Brewers Blackbirds the other morning. I have a monocular but may be investing in binoculars after I research them. Do you have any ideas on that? Never thought to get the darn monocular out the other day-duh on me.

Happy Friday to all.

Up at 4:00 am for work.

I did a bunch of research on binoculars before buying one. The Audubon website has a good buying guide online.

Best wishes all!

Late riser once again. Hanging out with the critters outside. I had 5 jays feasting earlier. I’m a crazy old bird lady instead of collecting cats. The squirrels overtook the black walnut tree unfortunately.

Catch up on never ending housework today.

A good weekend to all.

Up early for work.

Definite chill in the air as I rushed to shut the heater off. Not quite cold enough to warrant burning oil so early in the heating season.

Best wishes all!

Got up at 5:00 AM and promptly turned alarm off and went back to sleep. Grocery pickup alert dinged so I’m groggily leaving soon for that.

A safe sober Sunday to all.

4.50am here, but I've been up all night.

I get nights where I just can't switch off every so often.
