02:30 -- I'm not sleeping well tonight, so I decided to just get up and see what happens. My brain is working overtime since yesterday thinking about the job I've applied to at the same workplace, general anxiety over it. I didn't get a chance to talk with my current boss about it before he went out of town, so I almost feel like I've done something underhanded. Maybe I will compose an email on it to get it off my chest, but that will give me some distress until I hear back. LOL, I'm going in circles over something that should be more exciting than what I am feeling now. |
5:35am Did NOT want to get up today. Had a drinking dream. The scary thing was it didnt fill me with regret, I was like Meh I've gone long enough. Good luck with the application Guener. I only moved once with in my company and my ex-boss made me do the interviews for my replacement. I started getting presured from several co-workers with sibings, children, cousins or friends applying for the job. That was my punishment I guess. |

6:45 AM Woke up earlier so about 7 hours total sleep. It beats 5 the night before. Company arriving tomorrow so final cleaning push today. StepGD and her friend. She’s laidback and low maintenance so it will be easy I hope. Not up for entertaining. Guener- A twirling mind is not fun. Good luck with your employment application. A safe sober Wednesday to all. |

Good luck Guener! Nothing ashamed of looking out for your best interests. Dragon, I occasionally feel that way in real life too. Summer can be difficult, as Barbecue, and being outside always remind me of the "fun" times I had drinking. I continually rewind that tape in my head of the final year and never want to relive that experience again. It's funny how selective and cunning our subconscious can be. Our addiction wiring is just merely lying dormant in our brains, waiting to be reactivated at the first drop. Glad you are feeling better Ringo! Take care all! |
I wrote an email to my boss last night, and he responded with very supportive words by early morning, which made me feel much better. Thank you all for the good wishes. :) |

04:45 -- Today is going to be a bit discombobulated, as my mom is back in the hospital with a bowel obstruction, but I will go visit to try to pick up her spirits. |
5:15 AM Slept well again. Hope this is a trend. Trip to the grocery store early. Dr appointment at 10:30. Company around noon. The house is clean enough. It’s not the Waldorf Astoria after all but good enough. Have safe sober day everyone. |

Yes, sending prayers out for your mom, Guener. Stargazer, so true. The disease progresses whether we are sober or not. Just look at what happens to folks who drink again and if they're able to come back to meetings, they always tell how horrible it was. 0400 hrs. (broken record) |

04:45 - Very happy that it is Friday ... |
5:15 AM Morning coffee and cigs as usual on the patio. Company still sleeping. They are in their mid 20’s and travel with an air mattress! It’s a nice break from chaos and dysfunction. Another med added for high blood pressure yesterday. Dr said she wouldn’t be able to sleep either if she was me. That somehow didn’t make me feel better. Step 1 with sponsor has helped me realize the insanity of our disease. A great Friday to all. |

4:45 AM Happy to be awake early. A high of 55 and rain. Yesterday we might have hit 50 and had rain all day. At least we don’t have to water and can’t mow. A saturated Saturday ahead. |
6:30am Dog didn't think it fair that I should sleep in. 16c (61f) and rain all day. Indoor recess, I'll play in the garage today. |

My thoughts exactly, Chloe, Stargazer is a real machine when it comes to being there for work, and everything else. I feel like I need to do something productive straight away! We will see, but at least I'm up early and feeling good, too. |
