It's for living, not learning...
Without doubt the biggest mistake I made in the early days of my recovery was that, as many do when they first approach Stoic philosophy. Fail to realise, at least initially,that recovery is for living not learning i.e. you learn the principles and then you take the actions that go with them, perhaps,having regard to your own personal circumstances.
Instead they waste precious time in procrastination,arguing and debating about who or what said this or that,which gets you nowhere and is more likely, in frustration,lead you back to alcohol than turn you away from it, evenless lead you towards leading a peaceful, happy, sober life...
