Something I practice every day...
It's suggested that no one like an alcoholic, which in recovery is ok. As I don't recall getting sober o win any popularity contest, I got sober for me first and foremost.
I'm very proud of he fact that I'm a recovering alcoholic (many don't) and that I did it for me although I'd like to think others have benefited from the lessons I've learned and still learn in sobriety every day! It's great...
So I can honestly say, no matter what the day brings. No life is without adversity...and whilst I can't speak for others. It's something, like my awareness that I suffer from alcoholism, in recovery. Done to both assist and enhance it I practice everyday by trying to the best of my ability to put those things learned from others and my own experiences, good and bad, into my life...as it is now, safe, sane and sober.
As Epictetus said'Whilst you may not yet be Socrates. There's no reason why you may not be like him...'and practice makes perfect.
