I drank:
There'd always be a reason to drink. I'm trying my best to unlearn this way of thinking that alcohol is a good idea in any event because once I drink I struggle to stop and I've made a mess of my life over a number of years. I'm closing in on 4 months sober just now and this is uncharted territory for me but the longer I'm abstaining from drinking the more clear it's becoming how much of a problem it was. I never really accepted it because there was always a reason to drink
- To celebrate
- Socialising
- After bad events
- To escape depression
- To ease anxiety
- New relationship drinks
- Because the relationship turned bad (daily drinking)
- Because I'd "earned it"
- Because I'd not drank for a while (weeks tops)
- Because of lockdown
- Because I was hungover
- Because I it's 9am in the morning and I couldn't handle the withdrawal
