Gentle rain...
I regard my recovery as being like a spiritual gentle rain that has washed over me, providing me with a new sense of self. In my identity, sense of purpose and reason for my existence.
What some might call ' a road to Damascus moment' defined as being an important point in persons life, where a great change of ideas or beliefs takes place.

That rain has to wash away behaviors and thoughts we had established for years, as well. I guess that's why my rain had to be a torrential downpour of reality.

I must admit...
I must admit, I'm one of those, like I suspect most problem 'drinkers' who has problems with compliance...
That said, I have no respect and even less time for those who haven't faced adversity. Otherwise how do people know their strengths and weaknesses?
I don't like those who play at life and wouldn't recognise reality, and the adversity it brings with it, until it slams them in the face!
