There is a line in the lyrics in the lyrics of the song composed by Jimmy Cliff and sung by both him and Johnny Nash,' I can see clearly now...' that goes, both of which are displayed on You Tube with great lyrics and pictures,

'Here is that rainbow I've been praying for,'

That resonates with me and I suspect many others,reminding me of how many times, both in my drinking days and in my recovery I wet and prayed, sometimes quite openly to see that rainbow, despairing, when drinking that I'd ever go a day without alcohol, never mind seeing anything...

Now, I can not only see clearly but that rainbow doesn't just colour the sky, it colours my mind and my life...as Marcus Aurelius said,'Our minds are dyed with the colour of our thoughts,'..

Adding much weight to my thoughts and prayers for all those in recovery who I certainly wouldn't wish to suffer as I did, that they to will one day be able to say to themselves,'Here is that rainbow I've been praying for.'..

I like your analogy very much.

That song pretty much spells out the presence of the Promises in my life.

I wouldn't trade places with anyone in the world.

That doesn't mean I don't have Walter Mitty dreams about being a race car driver, but I am more than satisfied with my life.

And I am humbled by the opportunities that God and AA have given me in a stewardship capacity.
