Our (Sober Plan) For The Day

Up early here 4:17 AM and I have found in sobriety that it is good to start each and every day with a sober plan. This planting of sober thoughts in our mornings seems to set the mind, body and soul in the right direction for a sober day.

If we wish, we can refer to this as our sober plan for the day.

Although retired I do work a part time job testing water wells in the back country for GPM (water output). A very nice job that takes me and my best friend to beautiful places in San Diego County. We will be heading out in a couple of hours to do a test. Part of the plan, not taking any booze with us and good edifying sober conversation.

Well there will be no AA meetings for me today (I try to get to at least a couple a week).

So my plan for the day so as to keep recovery close to my heart will be to visit this site prox 10 to 20 times throughout the day. May sound like a lot of visits to some but, it has been working for me for many years now.

If we have a sober plan that works we had better keep working it. If not, we probably should put one together ASAP.

Have a blessed (sober plan) day,
Bob

My sober plan for the day is to enjoy the beautiful weather, ever mindful that I wouldn't be enjoying it if I were hungover.

Hit a meeting
Do some work
Go see a play tonight with my besty

Sober plan for everyday is to try to leave it better than I found it or at least not mess it up. Keep an eye out for where I can be of use to someone else.

Keeps me focused.

Been a while since I've been to an AA meeting.
This mornings 9:15 AM Jump Start AA meeting will be good for me today.

Always reminds me of when I came back into the AA rooms
after running amuck out there again.
I couldn't see or think straight for months.

Thank God -- God has restored me once more to sanity.

Probably visit SoberRecovery 10 to 15 times today.
Keeps me focused.

A nice sober day wished for all,
Bob

While I do practice a way of life that attracts POMJSOP (Peace Of Mind/Joy/Sense Of purpose) into my life;

1. Calling it a "plan" is not entirely accurate. It is simply a 'way" of life similar to Taoism.

2. While it includes "sobriety" as one of it's benefits, it is much more than just having clean pee.

3. It is something that I not only have to practice "daily", I practice it in all my affairs, even if that means repeating it 100 times a day.

4. Nor is it even "my" plan. It is the way of reciprocal universal prosperity. I cooperate with the Tao and the Tao cooperates with me.

How do I practice the way?

a) I recognize my part.
b) I do my part.
c) I trust the Tao to do its' part.
d) I detach from the outcome.

I was a slow learner -- but -- grateful

The wife and I are going to the rodeo today.
Oh yes, there will be a lot of beer drinking going on there.

My sober plan -- I do not (ever) entertain the thought of drinking.
For me drinking booze is like touching a hot stove -- again.
One should learn their lesson after being burned so many times.

I was a slow learner -- but -- grateful to be sober today.

Good day to remember that sobriety is of most importance for us sober drunks.

My sober plan for this Monday.

An AA meeting this morning at 9:15 AM.
It's called the "Jump Start Meeting"
Kind of like getting a sober jump start on ones day.

Then God willing my 10 - 20 usual visits to this site each day.

A nice sober day wished for all,
M-Bob

5:46 AM -- thinking with a sober mind this morning

This looks to be one of my usual sober days.

I have already been to SoberRecovery a few times this morning.

Will attend my AA home group at 9:15 AM.
I hope to see my sponsee there.

A nice lunch out somewhere (usually where they don't serve booze)
not that I would drink if they did.

Then God willing and the creek don't rise
back to SoberRecovery for a check in this afternoon.

I work a simple Program today.

A nice sober day wished for all.

My (Sober Plan) For The Day

My wife teaches third grade.
She has a child in her classroom who is in a big play today.
So as to support this one we will be going to the play.
Then we are taking my mother out
for a early Mothers day dinner at Black Angus Steak House.
Probably a cigar or two for me during the day as a reward.

My sober plan for the day.

Went to an early AA meeting.

Came home to do a project
that I thought would take one hour.
2 1/2 hours later and it's done.
I do thank God for
giving me these skills
so as to repair things.

Even though working in the hot sun
I kept my serenity and actually
kind of enjoyed it all.

Peaceful afternoon now
sitting under the AC.

Blessed
Bob

Hi everyone, I just have a question. I am new to this site, and new to seeking any kind of help outside myself to quit for good. Like many of us, I've tried to quit for good many many times, but always gave into my AV. My question is, what is a sober plan, what is a recovery plan? Are they the same? I notice everyone's sober plan is just planning your day (sober of course). But I want to know exactly how to make a sober plan and a recovery plan. Where do I learn how to do this, and what is important to include in my plans?

Sorry if this is a major rookie question. But thanks for any advice!

A possible starter list for you ?

Hi goneundone -- regarding your above asked questions.

1 and 2 asked above are basically the same
at least as far as I can see ?
others may wish to add more to this ?

3 -- Things that you or I do that help us to get sober and then to stay sober.

Many if not most in Recovery have found that a set of
sober thoughts and plans to be very important and helpful.

A possible starter list for you ?

Visiting this site daily (I happen to come here many, many times each day).
AA meetings
The reading of books regarding sobriety
Some will attend church (we think this to be a spiritual disease) ?
Exercise
Helping others to recover (working with others)
Not visiting bars or hanging out with drunken friends.

Have a nice sober day,
Bob
