Is being out of bed at 650am on a Sunday morning considered early for a working woman? I think so!

Gloomy raining and chilly here, gas fireplace going.

Good Morning from windy Wyoming.
Enjoying mug off coffee. Will brave the wind later to do laundry.
Staying in today to clean and work on a crewel embroidery piece.
A happy sober Sunday to all!

Mornin! Woke up at 5 then 6 then made it out of bed around 7. Was looking out the window while the coffee was brewing and saw one of my neighbors leaving the building and thought WTF is she doing going outside at 7:15 on a Sunday morning.

Sitting on my couch and looking at my foot. Sometime thats the best I can do.

What's up with your foot Allan? Is it in a cast?

We love getting up early. Kinda wake up normally
and its early....lol Love knowing our hot coffee is
waiting for us. We also like getting out to Walmart
of Lowes or Home Depot before the stores and
parking lot gets full. Parking close up to the stores
gives us that safe feeling.

Then we can walk thru the store without
dodging folks and its just that peace and
quiet to make those all important decisions
on the many many choices of chips we want...lol

We have a gas heater under our garage
to sit under while sipping on our coffee
and listening to those early birds waking
up. We chit chat about the weather for
the week, listen to our radio on a table
in the middle of us and seeing the sun
peeking over the back fence.

Im use to getting all my work done
during the day so I can retire early
and ready to get up early for my coffee
in the morning.

It was chilly this morning and now
inside watching videos and sharing
on SR.

Hope everyone remains sober or
clean for another day. The reward
come when we wake up another day
with peace and serenity in our hearts,
minds and soul.

No DUI's. No hangovers. No remorse.
No lies. No fender benders. Money in
our pockets. No one dies, goes to jail
or insane.

Super Sunday Sobriety.

5:29 AM and it looks like I'm up for yet another sober day.

Grabbing a cup of coffee and heading out to the Jacuzzi while the stars are still out.

You all have a nice sober Sunday

I almost got all of those. I did have a fender bender the other day. Have had many in the past but, I'm very grateful that for this one I was sober. Sure was better than going to jail. Seen a few of those in my drinking days.

It was nice outside on this sober morning. Just got to catch the last of the nightly stars and then some of the sun rise. MountainLady is still sleeping and I feel like I've been up for hours. A Thanksgiving feast this afternoon at a church we used to attend. If I drank booze today I would not want to go but, I'm not going to drink and I'm looking forward to the fellowship.

A nice sober day wished for all,
M-Bob

Just because I'm awake doesn't me I'm alert. It usually takes a couple hours for my brain to catch up with the rest of me.

Ok, it's official--I have a sleep disorder (non-sleep maybe). Was nodding off at 6:30 PM last night. Less caffeine today I suppose (later, 'tis soo good right now). Onward!

Sober Monday to you guys this morning
waking up around 4:50am.

Warming up today and the rest of
the week after a cool dip in tempts
close to freezing down here in the
south.

I spent all day yesterday in a funk
worrying about my gardens wondering
whether I should cover every thing
so they wouldn't freeze. I worry out
of concern.

So while I have half of my gardens mulched
I have to wait to do the rest of them cause
it cost money to buy more mulch.

Money money money......

I have to remember that we are both
retired and have to be frugal about
senseless spending and am grateful
that I have a good spouse who is our
money manager and keeps us on a
good budget so we don't fall victim
being penniless.

Anyway, its good for me to be able
to come here to release some pent
up resentments because I cant spend
freely. I helps me to remember that
we don't have to be rich in money
but rich in recovery resources to help
us maintain a healthy content lifestyle
in retirement.

Anyway, why waste a minute of worry
when I can turn to my HP- Higher Power
of my own understanding for guidance
to release me from that extra worrying
or holding resentments for not getting
my way like a little child.

Its easy to forget and wonder off
to the dark side of greed, pride, etc
which would keep me in the dark
or not allowing the Light to shine
freely thru my heart, mind and soul.

Well, today is a new sober day to
remember where I came from and
where I want to be.

Right here healthy, happy, content,
sober, grateful, and all those wonderful
things provided to me FREE from ABOVE.

Thank You HP for helping me to remember
what's more important in life right now. My
trust and faith in You that You will continue
to reward me with spiritual things in life and
not material ones.

Although a little tired this morning

looking forward to a nice bicycle ride at the beach with my old best friend

yes, he and I go back over 50 years together.

Weather today will be very nice for a sober ride -- 75 degrees at the beach.

Good morning all. Was gone most of the day yesterday and came home to find the dog had somehow knocked a can of powdered cappuccino mix off the counter, maneuvered it into the living room, removed the snap-on plastic lid and lapped out 3/4 of it's contents. Needless to say there were several messes of un-powdered mix on the carpet to clean as well as some solids. I refilled her water bowl and her food is always full. Don't think she slept too much last night. Anyhoo, gotta go as she wants out. If I had known she was such a vanilla cap fiend I would have looked for de-caff. If this continues I will have to do an intervention or at least crate her for long absences. Caffeine addiction is real!

Good Morning
Hoping for a better day at work. Yesterday was a bad Monday.
XAH leaving town today for Thanksgiving so I will be running back and forth to pet sit next 6 days. A bit resentful over being used but I will get doggy lovings! Dental appointment for a crown and filling.
Grateful I have job, dogs to visit and will be able to chew soon!

The best thing is I am sober today.

A good sober morning to all wishing to stay sober today.
For that is what we do -- don't drink today.
Going to work today.
Yes, the old retired guy still works part time (very occasionally).
A nice job that takes me and a friend deep into the mountains.
God's country.

Morning Early Sober and Clean SR folks.

We had awesome warmer weather yesterday
where we worked in the yard, moving rocks
on my cart path as I call it behind one of my
gardens and getting the lawn cut so it will look
nice before Thanksgiving.

When we get out to run to the store, I
like to look at other peoples yards and
when I see a good edging where the
grass is plush and green, it makes me
smile and comment on how nice their
yards look. Its like they must take pride
in making their lawns to look nice for
folks like me to admire.

I use to do that with our yard, manicuring
it to perfection to only be disheartened
to find dog poop sitting high on my lovely
lawn. Today, my husband uses the riding
mower to cut our grass so he doesn't have
to step in dog crap...lol And he does and
awesome job manicuring to perfection.

He works the front yard and I the back as
we both enjoy putting a little extra effort
into what we work so hard to achieve.

My dad taught me that you don't have
to have a brand new car to make it look
nice. And so it goes with a house or yard.
You keep it clean and it then looks nice.

Today, is a new sober day. And like MtnBob
said, It's What We do. Stay sober or clean
each day.

Because we live down here in Baton Rouge,
we don't have mts to admire and enjoy like
folks up north. For us, we have to take trips
to go out and see them just like we do when
we ride our Road King to Sturgis.

The Black Hills are just as beautiful as the
mts we've seen thru out our lives on other
trips to the Grand Canyon, family trips
thru the Blue Ridge Parkway, Coloroda
and everything inbetween.

MtnBob, are you one of those that mine
for precious stones? There are a few tv
shows we enjoy watching were folks mine
for stones for museums or sell. Beautiful
Topaz or Aquamarine, Rubies.

No miner here. I test water wells for GPM. Test to determine how much water wells produce. Usually when a house is sold in the backcountry the lending bank will want a well test so as to make sure that the new owners will have enough water for their family uses. It's a very cool part time job that I have been doing for a little over 15 years now.

In the old days I drank a lot of beer and smoked a few things as I watched the water flow for 4 hours. Today, I enjoy the sober clear views of the San Diego County Backcountry.

Morning Early Risers on this Wonderful
Wednesday.

Wonderful because Im sober one more
day on this recovery journey I began 25
yrs. ago in a rehab facility.

At that time in my life I was sick
with my alcohol addiction eating away
at me trying to take me too soon.

Those first 28 days sober allowed
the fog to clear and poison to exit
my body, mind and soul to receive
some vital information about alcohol
addiction and its affects on my body.

Then to become openminded, willing
to receive a recovery program consisting
of steps and principles to begin incorporating
in my everyday life once I returned home.

Those first 28 days was a great start
for my own recovery because I was
in a controlled inviroment, placed into
the hands of those with knowledge of
addiction and information to feed me.

My little family, 2 wonderful kids and
husband carried on while I was away.
They worked and kids were taken care
of by in laws so I wouldn't worry.

The house remained standing, the
family didn't starve and no one died
because of this ever changing event
that happened in our lives.

I returned home, carried on with a
6 week aftercare program and many
many AA meetings. I was doing whatever
I needed to do to remain sober one day
at a time.

Today, I can reflect back on where
I was and how far Ive come to get
me where I am today. That recovery
journey I have been on and all the
experiences, strengths and hopes
Ive acquired and can share with you.

Waking up this morning sober is
a gift I treasure and am grateful for.

We all have a story within us before,
during and after our addiction. This
is what we call our ESH - Experiences,
Strengths and Hopes.

I share my story to give hope to
others just starting their recovery
journey and to know if I along with
many others living a life in recovery
can and have lived clean and sober
a many one days at a time to get us
where we are today, Happy, Joyous
and Free, then so can you.

We never have to go back to the
misery that comes with addiction.

A Wonderful Wednesday awaits
each of you.

Ah...Mountains and rivers...You may well be a reincarnated Soto Zen Priest Bob. Dogen spoke of the spiritual significance of such geological formations (in abstract prose of course--I won't pretend to know what he meant). 4:39 for me today--sleeping later and maybe that's good. Have to prepare for court today so I will be pulling up an image of judge judy on my monitor and practicing my spiel later....after the dog goes out. Peace ESR's!
