Is games addiction real
It's not something I've dealt with, personally. But here's an interesting read...

Gamer Dies In Internet Cafe After Three Day Gaming Binge, Hardly Anyone Notices
I just watched a really good Chinese documentary on an internet addiction rehab program for teenagers in China.
It's called "Web Junkies" and it's on Netflix streaming right now.
That kid who died in the internet café was mentioned in the documentary.

In a very general sense, most people understand addiction to be anything that interferes with your ability to make common sense decisions, like being on time for your job, eating properly, and taking care of your body (to the degree that we consider within the realm of reasonable) for the sake of feeding the addiction.
That story about the man dying in an internet cafe sounds like a lot more than game's addiction. Sounds like someone desperate to escape reality, whatever the means is. Very sad. I find the "hardly anyone notices" side of it incredibly obnoxious on the part of the journalist, as if he showed anymore sympathy to the situation the man was in than the people in the cafe.
