The voice of reason ...
The voice of reason ...
In recovery, I've found that one of the greatest gifts of sobriety is that now governs my thoughts and behaviour at all levels, as opposed to the delusional life lead in my drinking days. Is to be able to be able to do so with 'the voice of reason' avoiding such controversy and debate, that invariably follows, in all walks of life, that disturbs the serenity of it.
Assisted by the thought that anything that contradicts logic and experience should be abandoned.
Perhaps to be found in the wording of the 'Serenity Prayer' repeated here,
'God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to change the things I can.'
Any grammatical errors are mine, and I apologise in advance for them.
Anything less and I am failing others and more importantly failing myself particularly, in recovery in seeking to live a peaceful, sober, happy existence.
An existence I'd hope for all of us!

The Serenity Prayer.
'God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.'
Apologies to all for my previous error...
