Need some advice - going crazy!
I'm now 13 days sober. I've had awful problems withdrawing, symptoms too many to mention. However the main symptom appears to be a random 'head rush' feeling as if I could faint.
I'm not looking for medical advice as I know you wouldn't give it. I have seen my local DR 3 times now and have been into ER 4 times with symptoms they relate to anxiety. I'm not convinced. I would have expected the head rush feeling to have stopped by now.
So, have any of you experienced anxiety, dizziness, head rush in particular at this or later stages?
I should mention I have had every blood test known to man done and all come back ok. The only thing I haven't pushed for is a CT scan/MRI, should I?

Hi PoorlyStephen and welcome to SR!
I have definitely had the symptoms you mention, primarily in the first 2 or 3 months after stopping drinking, but also had them recently from, as it turned out, mild food poisoning.
I have been sober for over 1 year 9 months now but I did have an MRI scan when I initially stopped drinking (mainly because of how I got sober.... was in hospital for a few weeks) and this did not show anything at all that would contribute to the feelings of 'head rush'.
So, not medical advice, but I probably would not worry too much about this and only ask for further investigation if this continues on for many more weeks.
Stick around, read lots and join in various threads - the Newcomer Daily Support Threads are good.

Is hypochondria part of your anxiety?
I think if you have been to the doctors three times and ER four times...and they say you are fine, take their word for it.
Congrats on 13 days.
