'Michael's Law'
'Michael's Law'
In recovery, I formulated, 'Michael's Law' which says, 'once you have examined the logic of anything, and the only thing left if illogical. Then that must have it's own logic' ....
I realized the truth of this when applying it to my own alcoholism.
It being said of it, that it's the only disease/illness, that will tell you, you haven't got it...
Further supported by the statement in the book,'Alcoholics Anonymous' 'remember we deal with alcohol, cunning, baffling, powerful.'
In my recovery, 'Michael's Law' helped in not only diminishing that power, but helped me come to terms with my alcoholism, in a very positive, constructive way. Which in this case, is logical...and is part of my recovery. Even to this day.
So, what recovery is to me...is the coming to terms with my illness, by exchanging my denial for realization, and acceptance of it's existence.
That, in recovery, took me a long way...
