'Time and tide'...
To me ,'recovery' is like the saying,'Time and tide, wait for no one...' to both receive and enjoy it, it's best to open your heart and mind to the changes that it brings....without fear or ignorance or prejudice.
Leaving, in it's aftermath, and the ongoing changes it brings. The opportunity to attach ones self to those people and things. That by their quality and credibility, enhance your life, in sobriety.
Whilst detaching from those people and things, who no longer serve any constructive purpose, perhaps simply in their quality, or lack of it, often delusional ...
This, I believe , is the essence of change and recovery, if not life itself.
