No One Said It Would Be Easy
Hello everyone,
any words of support as I get closer to my first day of not taking a drink? I knew this would be difficult but man that bottle is calling my name. I want to do this for several reasons: 1)I want to live a long life, 2)I want to prove to myself that I can do it and 3)I do not need to be addicted to something to help me cope with the everyday hum drum problems that life offers.
Thanks for your support and advice...only 4 hours and thirty minutes to go. Whew,
Fifty

Awsome fifty!! you did it, day 1 is the hardest I think. now you know it can be done in managable time frames, just keep it in the 24 and you'll do just fine.

Re: No One Said It Would Be Easy
Hi there fifty! I'm new to this as well, but I must tell you that reading the threads in this forum has helped me more than anything else. I literally spent several hours reading until I could no longer make out the words on the screen! Not just the success stories, but the stories about folks who, because of alcohol-lost loved ones, jobs, reputations, respect, good health, and so so much more. The moment I get the desire to drink- I come here to read, as a reminder of why this is so important to me. As the days without alcohol go by, it's easy to forget the consequences you paid while drinking too much. This forum will help remind you. Best of luck to you!!!!!!!
