Another work Christmas Party Casualty

Well this morning at work we were all called into the large conference room for the announcement that one of our most esteemed colleagues no longer works for us.

It seems that during the Christmas party he got pretty drunk and was playing a bit of grabas$ with one of the interns. Problem was, she wasn't playing back.

They didn't want to let him go locally but corporate HQ didn't give them a choice.

I really like this guy and feel bad for him. I hope, at the very least, he tacks this up as a negative caused by alcohol in his life and takes it as a learning experience.

Just one more reason I am now sober. I didn't have to be that guy this year.

Good Lord, that sounds familiar. I was fortunate enough that most of my alcohol-induced stupidity occurred in the forgiving 'college' atmosphere, where outrageous behavior is pretty much the norm. That said, the jokes stopped being funny when I entered the 'real world' . . . so glad alcohol hasn't cost me my livelihood, and by the grace of the living God, I'm sober 92 days.
