Here is a link that explains just what it is.
Amazon.com: EZ Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous eBook: Anonymous Alcoholic: Kindle Store
Thanks, Veritas. It looks like it is an updated version where the language has been updated to reflect today's diverse nature of its members, but that the content is the same.
I'm intrigued and will be purchasing the kindle edition today. Thanks.

I have downloaded the pdf version on my laptop for free. I am reading it. However, I love reading on my kindle and I can take it anywhere. I was hoping to bring it to my AA meeting. Kindle does not allow you download free books. Amazon does have the 1st and 2nd edition of the big book but I would like to have the newest 4th edition. I guess I will buy it for $8.00 at my AA meeting. Well worth it.

I have the second edition of the "Alcoholics Anonymous" text in Kindle format, but I can easily convert it to Sony E-Reader or Nook formats. I can send it to you, or anyone, for that matter, if they PM me. The copyright is invalid in the US, so no charge.
While I could fairly easily do the same for the fourth edition of the text, that edition is copyrighted.

Actually, I checked with a friend. She says she and her writers' group put their latest revisions work up on each others kindles for when they meet.
So if you can put something into MSWord (like a free book download), you should be able to upload it to your kindle like they do.

Here's the Big Book for Kindle, looks like 2nd edition
Amazon.com: Alcoholics Anonymous - Big Book eBook: Dr. William D. Silkworth, Dr. Bob Smith, Bill Wilson: Books
Hope that helps.
I have it on my Kindle and it comes in very handy when I am traveling.
Love and hugs,

Check the one NANDM posted or do some googling about how to upload a .pdf to your Kindle.
There's a line in the book about "half-measures availing us nothing" Go for the real thing on Kindle or just get the paper book. They have pocket sized versions that, granted, aren't as cool....but at least you know you're getting the REAL THING.

Personally, I'd be leery of that one.... there's a reason AA hasn't "updated" the Big Book "for today's language."

I have a copy of the EZ Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous on my Nook. It's the same as the Big Book, only it's a translation in current, everyday language. Much easier to read, but everything is still there. As a recovering alcoholic, I also have the official 1939 version, of course, which I use at Big Book Study meetings. But I read the EZ Big Book at home and when I have to wait in doctors' offices, etc. It covers the first 164 pages and has Dr. Bob's Story, but none of the other personal stories.

Bill Wilson says AA should change with the times
Some recent posts about the EZ Big Book suggest that if literature isn't conference-approved we shouldn't use it. I'm not sure Bill Wilson would agree. In his last message to AA in 1970, he said "AA will and must continue to change with the passing years. We cannot, nor should we turn back the clock." Matter of fact, the World Service Office has tried several times in past years to get Revision Committees to update the Big Book, but each time they got mired down in fights about grammar and punctuation. They sure weren't tuned in to Bill Wilson's philosophy.
