What are you doing TODAY to further your recovery?

Today I:

1. Read some literature
2. Spent some quiet time this morning
3. Journaled
4. Called my sponsor
5. Have plans to make a meeting this evening.

Write back a very good friend of mine (love ya Mike)
Call another good friend of mine (love ya too Jay)

giving glory to God for keeping me sober!!!! :)

Veritas1 07-22-2011 03:24 AM

Asked God for help.

Called my sponsor, plus 2 other recovered women of AA.

Read my big book.

Came here to SR.

Listened to a new open talk from an AA member.

Nourished my body, by eating healthy and took my vitamins!

Spent time with my family, had a nice day together.

Sunshine and mild exercise.

Treated myself to a beauty makeover with new skincare and makeup to look and feel beautiful.

:)

1. Came to SR to post my daily gratitudes in the gratitude forum.
2. Responded to other struggling alcoholics in the forum, because it also helps to keep me well.
3. Ordered the kindle-edition of "Spirtuality of Imperfection" based on another SR member's recommendation.
4. Fought the urge to be lazy today and decided I am responsible, instead.
5. Will order the AVRT book to learn of that program; to my knowledge, it wasn't available when I got sober and I want to learn about it.
6. Keeping an open mind
7. Living in the moment, doing my "thang", enjoying life and letting the outcomes of situations be what they will be.

I am being grateful for all my blessings!:) Blessings I would surely lose if I drank again.:(

sought god and his direction and tried to live in that vision.

Have conversation with God. Any time, any where. Do something for someone else, and not tell anyone about it. Pray for others who need prayer. Volunteer my time and skills toward a cause that I am passionate about (for me, neighborhood legal clinic and the USO). Attend AA and CA meetings.

Keep Busy-
Reading the forum-
Thinking how bad hangovers are-
Thinking the poor things done when under influence -

Day 3 so not great at this yet!
  • Read SR
  • Talked to myself a LOT
  • Reminded myself why I'm doing this
  • Being aware of the 'addict voice' in my head and did the opposite of everything it said!

SoberJennie, I wasn't aware there were online meetings? These would be very helpful for me as I cannot attend RT meetings. Could you tell me how I can access these? Thanks!

My staying sober allows me to give my dogs the best possible life... so that's what I do with my time: give my dogs a wonderful life.:) It rewards me for staying sober as I look at them and see shiny happy healthy faces, all the reward I need.:)
