As a Buddhist inclined person I don't turn my will over to anything because there is nothing for me to turn it over too. What I can do is align my "will" and by "will" I mean for me: resolution to practice Buddhism and addiction treatment. I can choose to practice recovery principals or not. That is too me my "will".

I definitely don't think that I'm the highest power out there.
Nor do I. I can not move the heavens and the earth by my desires or wishes. Everything is as it is and I can decide to fall into the flow of one action or not. I can not alter cause and effect when its been presented before me.
