what to drink?
What do you drink now that you don't drink any longer?
Diet soda is going to get old real fast.
My daughter was pouring drinks (not alcohol) for dinner the other night and commented "this is the 2nd 2-liter bottle we've gone through today". I thought to myself "yeah it is because I'm not drinking beer anymore".

We switch from one addiction
to another pretty quickly as
I found out.
Even tho I was always a coffee
drinker who drank it in moderation,
I soon became a coffeeholic. lol
Then it became too much and as
with too much of anything is not
good for you, I was told to stop
drinking it or switch to decaf.
Coffee has too much caffiene in
it which is a stimulant and that
was too much for my system.
Today I still drink it but again
in moderation along with water
with lemon at the resturant.
I also drink protien shakes
which has fruit, milk and
strawberry protein powder.
A lot less calories and sugar.

I love tea also. I make sun tea two gallons at a time during the weekend to last me during the workweek. Never get tired of it ! PERFECT for Arizona.(!) Cheap, too. A $2.00 box of tea bags lasts me a little over a month.
Plain ole water and a variety of teas. Every evening I also have a glass of Norfolk Punch, a herbal drink concocted by Benedictine monks hundreds of years ago, and totally non-alcoholic. Can't link to a commercial site here, but googling it should get some results.
I drink a lot of herbal teas in the evening - right now my favourite is a blueberry/ginseng blend and I always drink a peppermint tea on the way home from work. I can't go to bed without having a chamomile tea to help me sleep.
I drank a lot of vegetable juice when I first quit drinking. Now, I drink a lot of water.
For a specialty drink, I usually mix 3/4 glass of ginger ale with 1/4 glass of orange juice.

Diet coke and junk food: I binge on that crap the hours I used to drink. I'm only on day 7, so I'm not even trying to cut back - "anything but booze" is my mantra. My wife is disgusted with the junk I'm eating, but I tried to explain it to her. Yep: Diet Coke and Devil Dogs. Can't be beat. Do they still make Whoopie Pies?

Went through "stages" of drinks during my first 90 days:
1-30 endless sodas and caffeine
30-60 diet sodas and caffeine
60 - now Seltzers and various cranberry juice mixes. I have greatly reduced caffeine and sugar.
I have replaced my alcoholic drinks with non alcoholic drinks and still go through the motion of having a "drink" to undwind when I get home. This has really been helpful in stopping the alchohol.
I am considering other non-caffeine type beverages - not much of a straight water drinker.

I'm not a big "plain ole water" drinker, so I found Perrier makes it a bit more "fun" (and I love it!) I drink coffee first thing in the morning, then one at 4pm...I really need to do something about the coffee. When I go out for dinner I always order a "Shirley Temple" - my son laughs because he thinks its a kids drink. MMMMM

Like many above I drink a lot of sugar-free cola. I've also been drinking lemon lime and bitters and been adding a lime slice to my cola drinks too. I think the key for me has been making those non-alcoholic everyday drinks feel 'special'. Also been drinking a hell of a lot of herbal tea. And even when I wasn't sober, been drinking 2 cups of coffee a day. Try dandelion tea if you're into herbal tea. It is very refreshing and feels detoxing too!

Juice. Might as well replace it with something that keeps your vitamins up. Plus there's a lot of different kinds of juice, so there is good variety. I really like Bolthouse Farms: C-Boost if you feel like wasting money haha... But apple juice and such is fine too.
There is an endless supply of juices you can drink. Just walk down the juice aisle of the grocery store and decide to sample something by picking up a bottle or 2. I guarantee you'll find something you like.
