He had glaucoma in his right eye and the meds they gave him didn't reduce the pain and pressure enough so the only option was to remove his eye. Now he's back to his old self, eating and drinking and running around the yard. He's old too, he'll be 15 in April.

Aaah ok. I asked because my baby, Esther, had to have both of her eyes removed when she was a puppy. She was totally blind at birth....but also had severe glaucoma and some other issue in her eyes, both of which were causing pain....so they removed her eyes. She's so damn cute - just looks like her eyes are closed. And you would honestly never know she was blind. She uses her other senses to get around and does great!

Hello, folks--I have been going through a tough time w/the recent loss of my 15-year-old basset, Ned (my avatar). Today I thought I remembered there being a thread for dog people, thinking I remembered posting on it a few years ago when I had to let another, even older, basset hound go. I went "in search of", and here you are!

If anyone wants to read the backstory w/the basset as well as see the new dog that has come to live w/me and my remaining dog, Daisy, this link will take you to the thread. The dog part starts at post #8. https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...-part-3-a.html (Earth Prayers, part 3)

I'm looking forward to getting caught up on the previous posts, talking w/some members I already know and meeting others I haven't met yet. Wishing everyone a happy Easter, including those that have 2 legs, those that have 4, and those that may have only 3!

Story about a rescued dog who alerted family to a fire near a home. Pretty special dog.

A dog owner in Oklahoma is calling out her own pup for scheming to get free McDonald's hamburgers.

Betsy Reyes of Oklahoma City says her dog, Princess, sneaks out at night and sits outside McDonald's, pretending to be a stray. Reyes shared photographic evidence of her sneaky dog sitting in the local McDonald's parking lot at night.
