Interesting. I actually know him. (Or knew him.) I was in grad school in Charlottesville Virginia when he was playing a club called Trax every Tuesday. We would go hear him, and chat afterwards. My buddy was his lighting guy when he moved on.

Boyd worked out at my gym, and I used to see him a lot.

Went to many shows once he became famous.

And I forgot, Fenton Williams, who has been with the band since 1991, was a friend and classmate of mine. Very cool guy.
