Blocked script

Hello

I have a problem lately when I try to navigate through the forums on SR.
The script often blocks on "Facebook.com" or on "Facebook.connect" and I have to "debug" the page to have access.

(I use a french setup because...I'm french!)

____________________________

I always get to the page when I do a debug but it's time consuming...
I use a PC with Windows 7 and Mozilla Firefox.
I thought maybe I wasn't ther only one...any clue anyone?

Thanks

Hello,

I did some research and finally found that the scripts that block are handled by Java.
So I tried to find a way to disable that JavaScript and found an app to do so!
I’ve installed an add-on for Firefox that gives the option to toggle on and off from the JavaScript :

JavaScript Toggle On and Off

__________

Make sure you click on “add badge d to the toolbar...” to make it easy to see when it’s on or off.

The button will be on the top right.

__________

This is my temporary solution until the techs solve the problem on their side.
No one should have to disable Java to navigate on a web site…but I was exasperated!
Many functions won’t work properly when you deactivate Java but it’s a bullet proof way to go through pages as “read only” without the “block bug” driving you nuts

Thanks for your help Opivotal, Dee and Emily430!

We don't internally block any scripts.

Does this happen on all pages of SR (articles, forums, etc)? Or does this happen on certain pages?

Most pages for me, arochaIB.

I get stuck in this mode... "transferring data from www.facebook.com".

On most pages for me too.

And the same message too : transferring data from www_facebook_com
There's a complete white page and nothing happens if I don't debug the script or stop it via my new "JavaScript Toggle On and Off"

It doesn't do that on Chrome but I don't like to use Chrome.

Thanks arochaIB

I don't think the problem is caused by this site. I've been having horrible problems with firefox. I played around with it and it's fine now.

Here is a support page.

Hi folks,
The script problem has been going on and on for the last weeks, I was losing hope...

That was until yesterday.
The new Firefox update (version 59.0.1) has fixed (it seems) that problem, it was about time!
I'll let you know if it comes back...but I hope this is my last post in that thread
