Hi Peeps! I really tried to remember my old password to be able to log in under my old username but I couldnt figure out how to get help and my email address has changed. Anywho, it would be super cool if my two accounts could be merged so that I am linked to my old posts. Ripples is my new username but I used to sign in as Brae. Of course if I need to do anything just let me know.

We do our best but it's been hellishly busy lately, Brae.
I'll pass it on again

Chat: Java no longer works in Google or Google Chrome

Hi Snarly here,

When I first joined I tried to start small using "chat" but couldn't get it to work.

I tried repeatedly...really needed help so started posting.

Well I survived with the awesome support of the S/B community.

Now that I can think a little, I researched why. I do this stuff pro.

Turns out that Google and Google chrome browsers stopped supporting Java May 2015. There was a tech patch put in place that expired Sept 2016.

There is no more tech patches. Java is finished on Google.

The "fix" is users have to download Firefox or some other browsers.
Might want to post this. I signed onto chat this morning for the first time and the few users on were talking about how no users???

Don't take my word for it. Your usage reports should be WAY down from August to Sept.

Do a search on google chrome does not support Java to confirm.

Just trying to give back a little as thanks!

Snarly

PS - this is creating havoc in US schools and government which have locked down terminals....users can't change anything.
Thanks google!

I also did an ad hoc check regarding security and content that members post. That is a rather lengthy discussion.

Let me know if you would like to chat.

Dee74 was very supportive and reminded me about forums content being taken out of site.

I thing I figured out some of the paths that the web crawlers are using.

I think we have it posted somewhere that chat doesn't work with Chrome.
We need to merge the info in one place one of these days. I'll try when I have time.
