This is definitely a situation for a hospital emergency room.

We are not doctors and cannot help you with this. Please seek appropriate help.

Just checking in

Hi there,

I've been reading the thread, and I just wanted to check in with you and make sure you were ok.

Let me know, my friend

Hugs,
Alissa

I know I should anna but I really don't want anyone to find out I made a fool out of myself by overdosing on ADD medicine. :worried: Thanks Alissa, I guess I'm doing okay and I'm better than I was when I wrote this. Well, my mom won't let me skip out on the installation of officers tonight so I'll have to leave here in about an hour and thirty minutes. I'm going to call the chapter advisor and let him know that I'm not feeling well and don't feel up to being the installing officer for tonight and see if his son can fill in for me. I'm going to sit on the side and try to take it easy and avoid those that will get me excited so I think I'll be okay to do that.

If something happens to you, they are going to find out anyway.
Why not just call the ER and see what they say, or poison control.

The Student 06-21-2006 02:22 PM

I know I should but unless they absolutely have to find out I'd rather no one find out about it. :worried:

Done_With_It 06-21-2006 02:26 PM

Well, Good Luck to you...

If you won't even call the ER? There's nothing here anyone can say to make sure that you are safe, or that nothing is wrong.

I hope you end up okay.

Take Care

Madalaina 06-21-2006 02:28 PM

I'm worried about you!!!!

I'm glad that you are feeling a little bit better, but I am still worried about you! Are you sure you do not want to get some kind of help?

Hugs,
Alissa

Student,

I believe you can call a Poison Control Center anonymously.

Seek real expertise right now - you need accurate information to take care of yourself and make the right decision.

You may end up being just fine but the downside of an overdose can be huge. Trust me, everyone will "know" if you have a cerebral or cardiac accident. But you won't have many if any options at that point . . . You still have options now.

So please consult an expert without delay and do what they suggest.

I know I'm being an idiot and taking a huge unneccesary risk by doing this but I just can't bring myself to let my family or friends know what an idiotic thing I did. I am going to let my best friend know who will also be there and ask him to keep an eye on me. I realize that isn't close to what I should be doing but its all I can bring myself to do. Thanks for your advice and support, I really appreciate it even if I dont take your advice.

The Student 06-21-2006 02:34 PM

I know I should I have no way of not being overheard and I can't get myself to let my parents know how much of an idiot I've been.

A large overdose of Adderall can be fatal. Warning signs of a massive overdose include convulsions and coma.

Symptoms of Adderall overdose may include:
Abdominal cramps, assaultiveness, changes in blood pressure, confusion, diarrhea, hallucinations, heightened reflexes, high fever, irregular heartbeat, nausea, panic, rapid breathing, restlessness, tremor, vomiting
If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency treatment immediately.

You can call the pharmacy to ask questions.
You can call poison control.
You can call 911.
You can call your doctor.
You can inform your mother.

If you're looking for any other answers, we don't have them.

Done_With_It 06-21-2006 02:41 PM

Your not an idiot, but you may be in danger, and no message board can tell you if you are or not.

I'm just concerned for your own safety.
I used to do meth, and I know how it felt when I took too much.

There's a guy on here who says he had a stroke from crystal,
which is similiar to adderall.

And there are a few men on here who have passed away due
to strokes from meth.

That is what scares me.

Madalaina 06-21-2006 02:46 PM

Please recosider

I don't think that your parents will think you are an idiot. I belive that they would want you to come to them for help. Please consider this. Your parents are there to help you.

Hugs,
Alissa

The Student 06-21-2006 02:47 PM

I know its possible that I might have a stroke and could even die, but I feel that if I can just get through the installation I'll be okay. I've said this before but I just can't bring myself to let my family and friends know about the stupid thing I've done. :worried:

The Student 06-21-2006 02:50 PM

I know my parents want to help me and love me, I love them, I just can't see them looking at this as a one time incident, that I've learned my lesson, and letting me get on with my life without constant supervision or something of that nature. Also, I don't want to dissapoint them and let them down. =\

Morning Glory 06-21-2006 02:52 PM

Here are the numbers in your area.

Poison Control
(800) 441-0040

Brookshire Brothers: Pharmacy
(936) 597-8002

Madalaina 06-21-2006 02:55 PM

Is this a one time incident?

Is this just a one time incident? Do you abuse your adderall?

Alissa

The Student 06-21-2006 02:55 PM

Thanks Morning, I can't give you my promise that I'll give them a call but I will consider it and write the numbers down and stick them in my pocket just in case I come to my senses and change my mind.

The Student 06-21-2006 02:56 PM

This is the first time anything like this has happened to me. I was just really stressed out about the installation tonight and I took the adderall without even thinking. I will NEVER do that again and for now on I won't let myself get stressed out to the point of doing something stupid like that.

Buzz Kilowatt 06-21-2006 03:00 PM

Surely you can borrow a cell phone and step outside?

I understand but also disagree with your reasoning. As a parent, can you guess what would be worse? Pick one:

1. I never new about the stupid stuff my kid is doing;
or:

2. I never had a chance to help my child before hospitalizing or burying him / her. If only I had made my child trust me enough so that they could admit they had made a mistake . . .

A little melodramatic, perhaps, but if you want to get an idea of a parents agony over the loss of the child read what Snowwhite has posted here lately.

Not to insult you, but there is one fact that has come to light lately and has been published in several magazines: People in their teens through mid twenties do not have the reasoning power of their older peers and often make really bad decisions.

Don't make a bad decision!!
