Question about Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms

Could someone with PAW symptoms be mistaken for someone who is using? Eyes don’t look normal (pupils are large), a spacey kind of look, biting nails constantly, tires easily. Thank you for your answers.

PAWs covers a wide variety of symptoms

but I gotta say - and I'm sorry to say it... but in my experience when someone looks spaced out & wasted, they usually are.

sure, it could be..... but then again, anything's possible.

9.9 times out of 10 though, with a little conversation it's pretty easy for me to know which it is. That being said, I have the advantage of having 15 to 20 years of hiding my drinking and drug use to I know what to look for.
