How Can I Help You To Say Good-bye |
Diamond Rio - I Believe Love this song! Love the band. Seen them 3 times in concert. They were awesome! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esD0MoGe8DY Every now and then, Soft as breath upon my skin, I feel you come back again. And it's like you haven't been, Gone a moment from my side. Like the tears were never cried, Like the hands of time are holding you and me. And with all my heart I'm sure, We're closer than we ever were. I don't have to hear or see, I've got all the proof I need. There are more than angels watching over me. I believe, oh I believe. Now when you die your life goes on, It doesn't end here when you're gone. Every soul is filled with light, It never ends and if I'm right. Our love can even reach across eternity, I believe, oh I believe. Forever, you're a part of me. Forever, in the heart of me. I will hold you even longer if I can. Oh the people who don't see the most, See that I believe in ghosts. And if that makes me crazy, then I am 'Cause I believe Oh, I believe There are more than angels watching over me. I believe, oh I believe. Every now and then, Soft as breath upon my skin, I feel you come back again. And I believe |
The Mountain's Gonna Sing |
The Mountain's Gonna Sing lyrics Deep in the shade The air stays cool Truiest one, and I return to you Strike a fire Hold back the night See what remains of all we've left behind I just come for what peace I can find And the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Ohhh the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Rock me off to sleep Of all the stories that she did tell There in her stillness I learned her lesson well Words forgotten Forever pure Names unspoken And gone forever more I have nothing left to lay upon her door And the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Ohhh the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Rock me off to sleep Beneth the laurels Pearls of rain Falling shattered And sinking to the clay Was away these hills Wash away the dawn Somehow there's still The strength to carry on The spirit ever lingers in a song And the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Ohhh the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Rock me off to sleep And the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Ohhh the mountain's gonna sing this song for me Rock me off to sleep |

Amen nefmich!! |
I just love that song Gentle On My Mind. I first learned to play it back in 1984....or thereabouts .... it laid dormant for awhile and I learned it again this summer. Cool chord progression. I play it in the key of C. John Hartford wrote this song and he was a reknowned fiddle player too. When he died there arose increased interest in the bluegrass and country community to cover this song. Here's the lyrics: It's knowin' that your door is always open And your path is free to walk That makes me tend to leave my sleepin' bag Rolled up and stashed behind your couch And it's knowin' I'm not shackled By forgotten words and bonds And the ink stains that have dried upon some line That keeps you in the back roads By the rivers of my memory That keeps you ever gentle on my mind It's not clingin' to the rocks and ivy Planted on their columns now that bind me Or something that somebody said because They thought we fit together walkin' It's just knowing that the world Will not be cursing or forgiving When I walk along some railroad track and find That you're movin' on the back roads By the rivers of my memory And for hours you're just gentle on my mind Though the wheat fields and the clothes lines And the junkyards and the highways come between us And some other woman's cryin' to her mother 'Cause she turned and I was gone I still might run in silence Tears of joy might stain my face And the summer sun might burn me till I'm blind But not to where I cannot see You walkin' on the back roads By the rivers flowin' gentle on my mind I dip my cup of soup back from a gurglin' cracklin' cauldron In some train yard My beard a rustlin' coal pile And a dirty hat pulled low across my face Through cupped hands 'round a tin can I pretend to hold you to my breast and find That you're waitin' from the back roads By the rivers of my memory Ever smilin', ever gentle on my mind I am EXCITED the The Band Perry did this song. That banjo player is really good! |
speaking of mountains.... Mountain Lady Mountain lady do you sit on your front porch in the cool of the day? Mountain lady did you think your kids would ever come back to stay? Mountain lady does the columbine still twine around your door? And did you ever get a rug to cover the cracks where my diaper drug, on your wooden floor? (chorus) Oh you Appalachian lady, once I was your little baby, And you rocked me in your homemade rockin' chair. Since I heard the wild goose callin' I have done a lot of fallin', Mountain lady someday I'll come to you there. Mountain lady does the country church bell ring on Sunday morn? Mountain lady do you still wear that old apron ragged and torn? Mountain lady on winter nights before our old fireplace, As you look into the flame do you ever call my name, and do you see my face? (chorus) Songwriters: Johnny Cash |
