Leaving rehab early?

My fiancee has been in a rehab program sense July 2nd. It is typically a 45 day program and his therapist is talking about releasing him on August 15th. However, his parents are the ones paying the bill and they are making him feel very guilty about staying there because they always talk about how expensive it is to keep him going there. He told me he was thinking about asking to get released August 4th because of the money and they repeat the exact same program every 14 days so he will be hearing everything three times and he doesn't think he needs that...
I'm concerned that hes going back into an unhealthy situation (understatement) and one of the reasons he checked himself in when he did was because he has a felony and a misdemeanor (both drug related) and apparently him going to rehab will look good to a judge, leaving early would look bad, right?
Does anyone have any insight on how rehab programs work or how they look in a courts eyes?
